It was amazing!!! Very emotional. For me, Lupin and Tonks deaths were very emotional. I cried like a baby then... Dobby's death was just as sad... All of my predictions came true. Before the release I guessed that Harry died, that Harry was a Horcrux, that Snape loved Lily, and that Snape was good. I was so proud of myself. I'm glad that Draco and Percy came around. I literally jumped up into the air when Percy came to fight. One of my favorite parts of the book was Mrs. Weasley running up to Bellatrix during the battle. That was triumphant. Bellatrix had it coming the nasty little pureblood freak. I was surprised that Umbridge had the locket. I was so bewildered when I found out that Dung sold the locket to her...
I give the book a 12 out of 10

I love the 3rd chapter. So emotional and sentimental, lol.
zamber - July 24, 2007 08:27 PM (GMT)
It seemed realy different than the others. Maybe becasue they were not at school. But seeing the destruction of the wizarding community shocked me, I didn't think it would be that bad. As for all the deaths, freecking heck. I felt realy sorry for George because of loosing an ear and a twina dn Teddy because both his parents had died. Though I suppose they all died in combat. But Hedwig, how dare they.
I laughthed when Molly Weasly shouted at Bellatrix and I felt that Neville was great. He played such a big role and was a compleat rebel in school. Oh go his grandmother too.
Many of the aspects I guessed also but I was supprised what Dudely said to Harry it realy touched me. Then when Draco seemed to be an equel to them in the end.
It felt wierd reading the nighnteen years later because Harry would have been 36/37 and they were all grown up. Plus we had been with them for seven years and it had finnaly drawn to a close.

I liked it but it seemed it left alot to be desired yes I know I am a die hard HP fan and I am Saying this it just seemed at the end that everything was so rushed you know everything happened so fast and the horcruxes were like an after thought to the battle. I didn't like how she killed everyone off. Tonks and Fdred so did not need to die! I didn't like the chapter Bathilda's Secret! It just went so slow and then way to fast I didn't like it. The 19 years later thing I didn't like I would have liked to know a few things like what happened to the Dursleys, what did Harry, Ron, and Hermione do? Who was the Minister of Magic? who was Malfoys Wife? Who was the new headmaster? and what happened to Luna?
Other then those few things I liked it The chapter the Princes Tale made me cry although I saw it comeing. And when Mrs. Weasley yelled at Bellatrix I was like "she said What!" I danced for joy when Bellatrix died I hated her! and the last horcrux was brillent! I am sad to say that I was not right where any of the last ones were located but that is okay. I would give the book a 8/10 and the Order of the Pheonix is still my fav!
Witch_of_the_Silver _Moon - July 26, 2007 03:11 PM (GMT)
I loved the Chapter the prince's Tale. R.I.P, Severus Snape. I also liked when harry died for a little bit and met up with Diumbledore. That was great. Aside from Snape's death I was also sad to see Fred, Tonks, Lupin, and Dobby die. I was also a little saddend by moody's death, but not so much.
I wish they gave Snape a funeral or something, but oh well.......
I still give it a 9/10. wasn't perfect, but it was a good read.

LOL. I was actualy happy to see Wormtail go. Never liked his character one little bit.
LadyStar - July 26, 2007 07:01 PM (GMT)
I'm very pleased with the book. But to tell you the truth I didn't expected to many deaths.
But I was hoping to hear something about Luna in the prologue and a hint about who was taking care of Teddy. I think that' the only thing that bothered me a little.
Shawn Black - July 26, 2007 07:08 PM (GMT)
I thought the book was the best of the series; each book got better and better as she progressed. Draco never really came to the other side; he just scampered away looking to live, and the curt nod nineteen years later is just repayment for saving his live those two times, and removing his family of the curse of Voldemort (which the family desperately wanted when he endangered the safety of Draco). Snape was... heroic. It was basically him and Dumbledore who kept Harry alive through every book, and I never saw that until finishing this book. The people who died needed to die because it was war. Families are destroyed by war, and she needed to show that in the valiant deaths of Harry's comrades. When Molly comes out of no where to take on Bellatrix, we could tell Bellatrix was scared because she was just taking on three witches, and then Molly comes out and holds her own, and then kills her. (the quote she had was awesome by the way).

i liked the book i was just really realy sad when i read that fred died but other hten that i was good.
Shawn Black - July 26, 2007 07:18 PM (GMT)
Yeah all of the deaths were really sad, to me. Dobby almost brought me to tears, and the second time around I died a little inside. Mad-Eye had that feeling that he'd NEVER die, yah know? I was really surprised on that one. Fred made me feel... dead, as well, after he finally jokes with Percy again, and that smile upon Percy that was lost for 2, 3 years was now lost forever. Lupin... had to die. You could tell he was getting very old, and he longed to be with his friends once again. Tonks was a devastation to me. I saw a poster of the fifth movie after I read it and I almost cried. Tonks and Mad-Eye in the same room. :'(. Kreacher coming out with the House-Elves was nasty, and the only reason the centaurs joined the fray was because Hagrid SCREAMED at them for letting Harry "die"
Witch_of_the_Silver _Moon - July 26, 2007 10:42 PM (GMT)
Well, I'm happy to know what Harry, Ron, and Hermione are doing career wise. And if Rowling does rlease an encyclopedia eventualy, I'd deffianitly buy it.
MimiPRGameFreak - July 28, 2007 07:18 AM (GMT)
I just finishes it right now. I LOVE IT!!! It was different from the other books. More emotional and also it was weird that Harry, Ron, & Hermione didn't went back to school to finish their last year. Everything that I thought was going to happen before the book released did happen. Like Harry has a Horcrux inside him, Snape falling in love with Lily, Snape wasn't bad at all and that he and Dumbledore planned about Snape killing Dumbledore. I was in shocked when they killed Hedwig. I ws like "WTF! THEY KILLED THE OWL!!!" I was sad when Mad-Eye Moody die, but not that much. I was really sad when Lupin and Tonks die. Now their son will never see his parents alive. It was really sad also when Fred die. I didn't expect Wormtail to die that way. I thought he was going to help Harry and Voldemort kills Wormtail or something, but he killing himself. I didn't expect that. I also didn't expect Snape dying that way either. I knew Voldemort will kill him, but by Snape probably in the fight and gets hit with a curse or something. Never expect he will die just cause Voldemort wanted power in the Elder Wand. I was sad also about Dobby's death. I thought Dumbledore was going to be alive, but my theory on that part was wrong. He's dead which sucks. Favorite part was when Mrs. Weasley came killed Bellatrix. I was like "RIGHT ON!" Now I didn't like the 19 years later part. It felt like J.K. Rowlings was like, "Ok! Harry killed Voldemort. Everyone is going to be happy. Harry is married with Ginny and have kids, and Ron and Hermione is married and they have kids. That's it The End." I wanted to know who is Minister of Magic? (Did Kingsley stay fully as Minster of Magic after the part time he had) What happen to Luna Lovegood? Who is the Headmaster of Hogwarts now? Where is Ted (Lupin and Tonks son) staying with? (With his grandmother? Cause his grandfather got killed. I thought Ted was going to live with Harry since he is the Godfather, though Ted stops by Harry house 4 times a week anyways.) There is more that I can ask. That chapter should have been like 30 to 40 pages long at least if she wasn't going to write any more Harry Potter books imo. But I still love the book. It's my favorite now.
James - August 3, 2007 12:06 AM (GMT)
I loved it. I had no issues with it.
Except the epilogue. It was too vague.
I was really excited that most of the theories I had or supported came true. that was nice.
BTW, the title to this topic is too short for people to really realize there are spoilers in it. So I'm tweaking the title of the topic a bit.

LadyStar - August 3, 2007 12:38 AM (GMT)
Oh yes, very important. The very first death of the book. RIP
James - August 3, 2007 12:56 AM (GMT)
omg, and hedwig. How could I forget the cooles most pimped owl in the world? *bad james*
Sirius_Black - August 3, 2007 01:02 AM (GMT)
Loved it. So much I would love to discuss, but to start off...
Did anyone else feel Lupin was killed off, simply so he could be in the scene when the spirits of those who died, appeared to give Harry courage before facing Voldemort?
James - August 3, 2007 01:07 AM (GMT)
Hm. I never thought of that. I thought he was killed off with Nymph so that Harry could be a godfather like Sirius. But you do have a point, Ricky.
LadyStar - August 3, 2007 04:40 AM (GMT)
I think Lupin had to die. He was the last of the marauders. It was a form of clouser(sp?) for their friendship.
Chocolat64 - August 3, 2007 04:46 AM (GMT)
Hated the epilogue... I wish there would have been a chapter on just the funerals for everyone. It would have kinda given more closure. Coulda ended with something like,
"harry looked up to the clouds, saw a bird and knew he was free at last."
Or something gay like that, obviously written better [JK style], THEN gotten to the Epilogue.
Chago - August 3, 2007 04:48 AM (GMT)
I did not read the book because I am to poor to buy it, and im like 2378 in line for the book at my library, so i looked to you guys for support cause I love spoilers, so would anyone mind telling me who R.A.B. is
LadyStar - August 3, 2007 04:55 AM (GMT)
R.A.B. was Sirius brother.
James - August 3, 2007 04:56 AM (GMT)
R.A.B is Regulus Black. Just like most of us thought.
And I agree with Brittany. I hated the epilogue.
AND JK LIED! She'd said for years that the last word would be "scar" and it wasn't! Not in the last chapter or the epilogue! that was a downer. just a little one.
And what about your opinions with Snape? I always felt that he was a good guy. Even after he killed Dumbledore.
WHICH WAS ALL A PLAN! Just like I believed.
Man, there are some people out there that are amazing at plots!
Sora Saridian - August 3, 2007 04:57 AM (GMT)
Regulus Arcturus Black is R.A.B AKA Sirius brother
Chago - August 3, 2007 05:16 AM (GMT)
ok thats what i thought, but what was the importance of it?
James - August 3, 2007 05:20 AM (GMT)
Regulus had taken the horcrux slytherin's locket. And harry had to find it. Incedentally, the locket had been at Grimmauld Place the whole time. (look at the chapter where everyone's cleaning Grimmauld Place in OotP. Cant' remember the chap name)
But, Mundungus Fletcher had nicked it. (we had evidence of this in HBP when harry catches Mundungus knicking Sirius' (really Harry's) things.
And mundungus sold it to Umbridge. (bwwahaha, evil twist. Go JK!)
boms07 - August 3, 2007 05:23 AM (GMT)
yeah, the epilogue was extremely disapointing to me. i was also disapointed at the way she ended the actual book. i just think that there could have been much, much more that she could have written after the death of You-Know-Who
Sora Saridian - August 3, 2007 05:29 AM (GMT)
i like the epilogue no it wasnt disapointing but a guess its personal oppinion
James - August 3, 2007 05:29 AM (GMT)
hehe. I really liked how the name Voldemort became a jinx and that they'd find you if you said it. I always wondered how they found the trio and Totingham Road or whatever it was called.
Sora Saridian - August 3, 2007 05:30 AM (GMT)
Yeah Voldy's name was taboed! lol
boms07 - August 3, 2007 05:31 AM (GMT)
Yeah, how they made it "taboo", that was a nice touch by Jo.
Sora Saridian - August 3, 2007 05:32 AM (GMT)
Yeah funny how ron pretty much freaked out when they where going to say Voldemorts name
boms07 - August 3, 2007 05:33 AM (GMT)
well it makes sense since Harry did actually say it later and almost got completely effed.
James - August 3, 2007 05:34 AM (GMT)
it's like when everyone flinched or something when voldemort's name was said was a foreshadow of what was to come. Jo is brilliant!
Sora Saridian - August 3, 2007 05:35 AM (GMT)
Yeah i know it made since but it was just extremly funny
boms07 - August 3, 2007 05:35 AM (GMT)
hmmmmm i never thought about that, its like the ministry was forcing everyone to fear the name. "Fear of a name only increases fear of the thing itself" - Hermione (i forget which book)
Sora Saridian - August 3, 2007 05:39 AM (GMT)
Seconded book was when hermione said that in diagon alley to lucius i believe cant remember
Yeah i would honestly see no reason to fear voldemorts name if i was in the HP World lol
LadyStar - August 3, 2007 05:40 AM (GMT)
It was amusing though, how even his name payed an important part to the book.
