Title: Why Do We Stand?

Guii - March 21, 2007 08:29 PM (GMT)
Why do we... the freak Harry Potter fans stand in line for hours at a time just to see the HP movies or just to get the new book?

ok i admit i do it myself... but... why???

fleur - March 21, 2007 08:41 PM (GMT)
coz we want to be the first person to see the movie and to make sure we are able to see it at that time.

Carissa Dodge - March 21, 2007 08:52 PM (GMT)
idk because we're crazy!!! =]

fleur - March 21, 2007 09:05 PM (GMT)
we're really mad!

t-force - March 21, 2007 09:14 PM (GMT)
I make a diagram of it:

Government+money+fans+book/movie=$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

or...

:wizard: +$$$$ + + :OoTP: :pirate1: :snitch: =$

Carissa Dodge - March 21, 2007 09:24 PM (GMT)
lol yeah we are mad lol..

i love the icon thing it craked me up..

Guii - March 21, 2007 10:26 PM (GMT)
no i got it.... we LOVE HARRY POTTER... OHHHH YAAAAAA!!!!

Lost Prophet - March 21, 2007 10:34 PM (GMT)
I usually don't...I wait until the hype has all went down, and then I go buy the book or movie. In fact, I've only went to see an actual Harry Potter film in theaters like once, because of the long lines here.

And because people are obsessed.

Carissa Dodge - March 21, 2007 11:02 PM (GMT)
lol my sisters pre order tickets and the 3 of us go at 1 and its soo funny how people dress up.. i kind of make funn of them lol..
my best friend and i were talkin about doing it this year.. for the fun of it..

Guii - March 21, 2007 11:25 PM (GMT)
Wait...WAIT??? How can you possably wait... plus the hype never dies remember. and...Wait!? my GOD... who are you... wait!?... your shunned in my book now...lol

Trash - March 21, 2007 11:35 PM (GMT)
How can we possibly wait... um... let me think... because we're not so sad that we HAVE to stand in the cold at midnight every time a book comes out. Sure the hype doesn't exactly die down, but if you go in the in the morning, all the die-hards have already camped, bought the book and left, and it's pretty empty in the stores. I've only gone to a midnight opening once, and it sucked.

I don't intend to see Order of the Phoenix unless someone else lends me the DVD after it's come out on DVD, just cause the movies aren't that good.

Guii - March 21, 2007 11:38 PM (GMT)
July no cold but anyway... and i agree with you that the movies aren't so good but still... and i herd this one is sopposed to bee rreally goood

Lost Prophet - March 21, 2007 11:43 PM (GMT)
Uh...I'm Ivy Williams?

Bleh. That font gave me headache. And cheers to Sarah for saying everything I wouldn't have the patience to say.

I used to be really obsessed about it when I was younger, but nowadays, not so much. I just wait patiently and then go buy whatever book or movie is out.

Guii - March 21, 2007 11:51 PM (GMT)
no iment no cold in july but whatever if thats why you put yuor name is IVY ... ok awkward

Lost Prophet - March 22, 2007 12:04 AM (GMT)
You asked me who I was. I answered in an awkward, dry, and somewhat sarcastic manner.

Carissa Dodge - March 22, 2007 12:47 AM (GMT)
my mom pre ordered the book for me.. =// so idont have to wait ...

Guii - March 22, 2007 12:58 AM (GMT)
that was retorical... srry

t-force - March 22, 2007 01:45 AM (GMT)
We just watch/read Harry Poppins for our own personal and public reasons. For amusement or for terror, for excitment and for :xmastree: .That is why.

Amerigo Shakespeare

And,what is your real concern Guii? You could try to stay calm and stop insulting professors to get a clean answer.  :console: :OoTP:

Carissa Dodge - March 22, 2007 03:23 AM (GMT)
:indifferent: omgsh lol..

fleur - March 22, 2007 04:58 PM (GMT)
I've pre order it as well but i can't wait that long!

Carissa Dodge - March 22, 2007 06:16 PM (GMT)
omgsh i know i rather have the book than the move. because we all know what happens because most of read the books ... i just wanna know how it ends... ugh, its killin me.. gosh..

fleur - March 22, 2007 08:05 PM (GMT)
ya i knew, the end could be anything and who knows whats going to happen that what makes it so exciting and heart braking to have to wait for the book for so long.

Carissa Dodge - March 22, 2007 08:14 PM (GMT)
lol, yeah im going crazy... :gap: lol

fleur - March 22, 2007 08:20 PM (GMT)

Loony_lovegood223 - August 8, 2007 06:36 PM (GMT)
It's because we get sooo into the story...thats my way of thinking.

Kisara - August 10, 2007 07:07 AM (GMT)
Because it's in my blood. XD My mom did the exact same thing for Star Wars when it came out.

James - August 10, 2007 07:17 AM (GMT)
Because we're dedicated fans. A true fan would go through the pain and the numbness in their legs to be there.

And doesn't it make you feel better when you say:

"I went to the midnight premere!" or "I got in line for four hours to get the book"

It's like an acomplishment that others haven't made.

Lici - August 10, 2007 07:17 AM (GMT)
Jeez, not everyone stands in line for hours, and luckily for us down under, the books came out at 9 in the morning, so we didn't have to wait till midnight, and if you want to be the first to read it...read faster...i still haven't seen the movie, and im not that fussed about it, sure im annoyed that i haven't seen it yet, but its just the movie, we know what's going to happen anyway.

and the fans that loved harry potter before the craze generally dont stand in line for hours.

James - August 10, 2007 07:24 AM (GMT)
well, I didn't. I got in line at 12:30.

And I've been a fan since 2000. bwahahaha!

Lici - August 10, 2007 07:29 AM (GMT)
2000 pfft...ive been a fan since '98 :P

James - August 10, 2007 07:36 AM (GMT)
how old are you?

I read the books when I was in 3rd grade....

Lici - August 10, 2007 07:47 AM (GMT)
16, i read then when i was in 2nd grade...i think it was 2nd grade

James - August 10, 2007 08:06 AM (GMT)
well u were a bit older when they came out. I was in kindergarten! or maybe first. oh well.

We're both fans, hands down. case closed.

Lici - August 10, 2007 08:09 AM (GMT)
true

James - August 10, 2007 08:14 AM (GMT)
haha.

Kisara - August 10, 2007 11:20 PM (GMT)
we stand in line to make memories that will last a lifetime. XD

zamber - August 15, 2007 01:10 PM (GMT)
I didn't stand waiting for the books. I got the first three when I was in year three after the teacher had started reading us the first one in class. Then I had to wait for the fourth one. To annoy me I had ordered it from the school bookclub and it turned up two weeks after it came out. Then the fith and seventh one I just walked into Tescos and bought it straight away, no hastle. The sixth one I was at the stables on the day it came out so my parents got me it during the day.

As for the films ques were not that bad apart from the fith were they had been a crash so we could not even get of a round about near our house. We tried three times before we could acctualy get there.
