s1.invisionfree.com (server #1) encountered a hard drive failure today (Wednesday, November 15th). Brandon Kopetzky and his team are working on recovering data to get the forums back to normal. The forums are expected to be back to normal in a few days. More information

All files that were uploaded to the forums are down. This includes avatars uploaded to the forums. However avatars externally hosted will remain "on" the forums.

FAQ and Guide for Affected Boards
  • Should I post in a "broken" topic? We recommend that you continue posting in a separate topic. Once the broken topic is recovered you can merge it with the new topic to make 1 topic again. However, you can post in a broken topic, especially if you just want to make a temporary post (for example, a link to the topic where the discussion is continued).
  • Can I move topics? This is not recommended, though if you must you can.
  • My board's name changed. Can I change it back? Yes, you should change it to the name you want to use.
  • Will PMs be restored? Yes.

Another site was actually removed completely. When I enter in the address it says the board does not exist.

They may have gotten fed up with it and just deleted the boards completely.
It could be from the crash, but not likely.

I revived the skin by visiting http://s8.invisionfree.com/gs71/index.php.
A have also brought a big-chunk of the emotions back online.
Sadly I had to go through this many forums to even get this far:

I created a support ticket and got a response as I expected:

The recovery is taking longer than expected, and the only person with information on this recovery (Brandon) is currently on a Christmas holiday. We should hopefully find out more when he returns. We apologize for the inconvenience.

This sucks. I'm glad my site wasn't corrupted. Members and Positions weren't lost, were they?

And this is the reason why I can't reply in my Charms topics, right?

I don't think positions were lost, they just no longer appear "in charge" of the forums they are in charge of. Like the Slytherin forum is apparently under the direction of Sirius Black, Vipera, Draco Malfoy, and Dreyal Malfoy (though I think that one has been recently added on after the crash). The powers are still intact to those newly appointed though.

That does make sense, seeing as Ravenclaw only has one prefect now. Well, we'll have to wait till Brandon comes back from Christmas holiday....V_V

*wipes sweat from forehead* I was able to get the Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin pips
back online after loads of internet cache searching. However they are discolored a bit and possibly mal-sized. Hope Jackie has a backup of all the pips she made...
