Title: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Description: Did it meet out expectations?

[FONT=Geneva] The first four books were absolute masterpieces , but because of their [COLOR=blue]greatness, [COLOR=red]were our expectations too high for book 5? There are numerous pieces of fanfiction all over the net; people write what they think will happen. After reading the [COLOR=green]Order of the Phoenix, I have to admit, i was not as satisfied as i thought i would be. As I read about the parchment and the pen that slashed your skin, i started to believe it a littler far-fetched. Don't you think? However, it was still very good. I can't explain all my feelings for the book in words.
Tell me what you think =]

Book 5 for me was very very good it was interesting and very sad at the end i really liked it.

yeah i loved order of the phoenix...i love it the most of the whole series so far, maybe its because so much happens and so many things are explained, along with giving u more things to think about.

OOTP for me was the best so far. It's got good competition from POA but OOTP was so refreshing. It explained so much and left even more questions unanswered. Plus the anger Harry has and the fact that ew lost someone so special, it was such an emotional journey as a reader.

oh my, i LOVED ootp! i can never really pick my favorite HP book, but its definitely up there. i thought it was great, it really gave us an idea of how the final two books are going to be like...
crazzyfan - June 16, 2004 05:53 PM (GMT)

the first time i read it, i couldnt put it down...it was so awesome
Jenny Barely Alive - June 17, 2004 10:36 PM (GMT)
Blah, because my father is queer it took me until 2 or so on Saturday of the 21st to get it...but wow it was worth the wait.
I think I finnished it on Sunday at about the same time, I loved it so much. I remember about 100 pages before the end I came running upstairs to my Mum in hysterics I was bawling so badly. Sirius's death shocked the heck out of me, I seriously couldn't stop crying. She was like, "Oh, my God, what happened?" and I'm just like "S-S-Sirius d-d-d-d-died." It was pathetic. I am the biggest loser...seriously.
But apart from being really angry at that horrible Umbridge woman, I honestly adored the book. PoA is still my favorite and it would take something huge in one of the later books to change that.
My favorite part of the whole thing, however is when Harry goes into the Pensieve and sees Lily and James. I love learning about them and the Maurader's, which explains why I enjoy PoA so much.
There was so much going on in OotP that even after a third read I don't think I've caught it all. Perhaps I'll re-read it on the way to Hawaii, God only knows I'll have enough time.
My opinion was that it was sheer brilliance, I loved it. I laughed, cried, yelled, felt happy, felt sad, felt pissed and a million other things, a writing ability only JKR can produce. *sigh* I can't wait till the 6th one.

i was the same way! i read it with my two best friends, brooke and brittney, and we were all crying together. aww, it was awful. i loved sirius. i was hysterical during Prisoner of Azkaban (the movie) when he was saying goodbye to harry before he rode off on buckbeak...i think i'm still in denial over his death.

OotP was the best book. In singapore, I was one of those who got the book right early in the morning.
Ammegret - June 23, 2004 02:32 PM (GMT)
The moment i got it, i started reading it....
Remus - June 23, 2004 06:07 PM (GMT)
I almost broke down crying.. Sirius was one of my favorite characters.. and I will miss his presence in the next two books to be released..
She killed him off for a reason, I know it.. hopefully something good will come out of it all.. (I doubt it, but it's good to shoot for high hopes!)

I know! I love the whole action sequence in the Ministry of Magic...it's such a suspenseful and exciting part. I was reading it and I kept shutting my eyes, scared to read what was going to happen next...I can't wait for the sixth one. It's going to be awesome...
Elle Phaunt - June 30, 2004 06:53 PM (GMT)
OMG! This is probably my 2nd favorite book. I didn't like it because of Sirius...well u know. He is my favorite character, and I hope they bring him back somehow. But I still liked it with Harry and Cho <snicker> and all of the other funny parts.
SCC-Azn - June 30, 2004 07:19 PM (GMT)
Grr...why do people like Sirius so much? He never actually did anything....
The same people that's fav charectors are Hedwig i'm sure...
Awsome book...
Elle Phaunt - June 30, 2004 08:31 PM (GMT)

::looks utterly appalled:: Sure, he didn't do anything...unless you count his spending twelve years in Azkaban for a crime he never committed and saving Harry's life...
SCC-Azn - June 30, 2004 08:37 PM (GMT)
Alot of people save his life....anyway we never see him spending the time in azkaban...
I'm just saying ALOT of fic authors make too big a deal over sirius dieing...like harry becoming mass depressed or w.e...
Elle Phaunt - June 30, 2004 08:42 PM (GMT)
Well Sirius Was the only family that Harry ever knew. Yeah there's the Dursley's but Harry hates them. So yeah harry would be depressed if His family died.
foolofatook - July 1, 2004 01:05 AM (GMT)
Yeah, Sirius was kind of like a substitute father for Harry. He finally, after so many years of thinking the Dursleys were his only relations, found another family member. They weren't blood relatives (well, that we know of), but it was still a pleasant experience for Harry to be able to have an adult he could turn to. Now, with Sirius's death, Harry probably will become somewhat depressed because it was almost like losing a parent again. Plus, he'll probably feel like its partially his fault...
hermione-granger - July 11, 2004 02:15 AM (GMT)
I LOVE THE BOOK! Only I ordered it through my school and HAD TO WAIT 1 WEEK AFTER THE RELEASE DATE TO GET IT! Rrrrrrrrgh! Anyway, my stupid friend told me Sirius died before I read it ... I was so sad and angry I nearly cried then. But I cried when I read about him dying anyway. Stupid friend ... I HATE HER!
Remus - July 11, 2004 02:34 AM (GMT)
I'm going to miss Sirius.. I liked the book very much :(
Nimphodora_Tonks - July 19, 2004 11:24 PM (GMT)

ViolentViolet - July 22, 2004 08:59 PM (GMT)
Yep, OOTP was absolutely wonderful to me! I loved the part where they formed Dumbledore's Army, and the part afterwards when Dumbledore found out about it. He must have been so proud! The 5th book rocked...
Nimphodora_Tonks - July 25, 2004 04:47 AM (GMT)
It was a very good book1 but it was sooooooo sad to see sirius die
a04 - August 15, 2004 03:51 PM (GMT)

hermione-granger - August 17, 2004 11:06 AM (GMT)
I love the OWLs part ... Hermione was so funny; the way she kept snapping at people. It reminded me so much of me ...
evilsmarty - March 17, 2005 07:36 PM (GMT)
I must admit, I dreaded reading the end of OotP, but it was an excellent book, I just think I was using it as a comparison to Goblet of Fire (which is my favorite HP), which was not fair on my part.
zamber - May 4, 2005 04:49 PM (GMT)
I thought it was realy good.
neekz234234 - July 23, 2005 09:52 PM (GMT)
Yeah I loved the Order of the Pheonix but I think there should be thousands of people in the Order
