Basically, this is what it will look like. It's my first layout ever, so I am open to critics, comments, tips, etc.

Are the content and navigation box large enough ?

In my opinion the navigation box is fine but maybe the content box should be bigger, it all depends though what is to go in it. On average content boxes are wider.

Wow I totally love what you did to the layout. Yeah like this said maybe content box just to be a little bigger but every thing else is great! Can't wait to see the site up again ^^

Ouh... very nice rough feel to it. But, I'm extremely biased against blending of multiple images, such as on the left edge.

I love everything else but the black and blue space where the contents are meant to be. Something about the blending isn't really much of a good match as Nic also said. IMO it'll look better if it's using a thin white 1px dotted line around the black instead so it's more blended in.

Is this better, somehow ? ...
I don't really see how a white dotted border can improve it, personally ...
Also, I couldn't do much for the blending/banner itself. It would look too empty.

Well, I didn't vote for bad. I don't see who should have without giving reasons.
The white border defines the edge more, I guess, I can't think of another reason to use it. The sizes of the boxes are fine now though, I don't think the blending needs any alterations, it's fine how it is.

It's a very impressive layout, Kai-V. It's something different compared to the past layouts that were on the website. Did you mean to create the layout just to suit bitbeasts and beyblades themselves, or did you mean to turn the focus away from the Takao and Brooklyn pic included in the layout?

What Tamer Brad suggested seemed more of a challenge than using actual characters. I actually had my own idea, but I also wanted to know if I could form something decent with blades, for a change ...

Hm, I did not know if using blades material was a good idea, so I thought perhaps featuring [a] character[s] would be better, regardless of the facility I would have had ...

I guess it would be good two have two layouts for comparison. It's not like the first one made should be the first one used, since things are still in production at this stage, but that isn't to say it isn't good enough as it is.

Blades on their own would make it look empty, the use of Dragoon as a bitbeast helped to fill it but use of one or more characters in the design might make it look better.

Aren't the pictures of Brooklyn and Takao visible enough ...

They are visible, just not to the extent of seeing them 'standing out' in the layout.

Maybe if they were un-colourized or given a slight colour-tint they would 'match' the image of the Dragoon blade, which in my eyes is the part that catches attention first. They are quite small images, if the purpose of them there is to be visible or to 'stand out' then keeping the colour would work. This is just my opinion, I don't know if others would agree with this if they are fine with it as it is.

Then again... there will be content within this layout which will add to the overall colour, I suppose if the navigation and content images are to be part of the 'background' and not standing out to be part of the content then keeping a consistent colour design is fine.

Whoa, I just noticed the Takao picture on the Navigation Bar... Brooklyn was fairly easy to see, not really at a first glance though. Maybe changing the coloring would help for them to stand out a bit more. I'm not much of an artist, so I don't really know what would look best. But having the characters stand out more (in whatever way) would be nicer.

It would look pretty empty without characters, which I thought there weren't any besides Brooklyn until this moment.

They are pretty visible if you have a decent eye, it's just that to some people it won't stick out becuase of the consistant color sceme.

The Layout is excellent.

Unfortunetly for me beucase of my screen resolution is looks a little short but I'm sure it looks bigger on someone with 800x600.

The new layout looks really cool, but I suppose Kai-V can do any other alterations to it however she pleases, non of her graphics designs has ever been a dissapointment anyway.

This might be a bit outragous to both the original owner, Kyle, and to Kai-V but what if we use the old navy layout he designed with DZV & DGV in the header and re-designed it then blend it into this new one and see how it turns out?

I don't really care about bbs in the same way you do. For me, it's just some forum about a certain Anime/spinning-top game I go to when I want to kill some time. If it goes down, it goes down. ^__^ I got other places to go to. :)) But that doesn't mean I don't care about it at all.

I know how hard it is to build a layout, I always have gfx designers block. Are we going for a kiddy feel or a professional feel? Call me crazy but I REALLY don't like it. Not saying I could do any better though. I'll give it a try later if you want.

So, you're the one that voted 'bad'? Why do you dislike it so much, what doesn't it have that one you could make would.

I'd like to see what the layout Genocide was talking about looks like though...

Anyways, it looks to kiddish. To uneven, I liked bbs's old layout. I'm not saying we should go back to that though. I just think we need a more professional looking layout.

You have to take into consideration that I cannot improve if not given 'special eyes' to see the errors.

My main goal was to create something more different than the past layouts. Personally, grey is not a very interesting colour.

Also, you should give me links to Beyblade sites that look professionnal. I just don't see what you mean ...

I strongly agree. There's really too many layouts at the moment that just look like a few images thrown together.

Because most of us can't get hold of him. Even if we did, what's going to make him say yes after all the horrible things everyone's said about him?

It's pretty easy to find him. He spends a lot of his time at Ty Kamara. But he changes his username often by the looks of it. Last time I saw him his username was "Kii". Anyways, I doubt he wouldn't give it to us, since he really has no use for it.

But I also doubt that he still has it. He probably deleted his computer of all of its Beyblade stuff.

Hmm, there isn't much point chasing someone for an old layout. So what if it looks professional, if someone could post or provide a link to a 'professional' layout style it would help move things forward, a new one can be made or maybe somehow blended with the current one as GenocideBB-Shadow suggested.

Kira/Kii (still is Kii currently) does still make layouts but I don't think the best solution is to ask him, I agree it's most likey he doesn't have that layout, but again it's not the only one in the world, people might not like that one if it still exists anyway.
