HISTORY-
In the midst of collapses of various Balkan empires, New Garneria emerged when workers rallied together and set up a socialist state. Since then, the ARNG has had a long, rich history of revolution in an almost hippy-esque liberal sense. Governments often change and coups are not uncommon. However, the Socialist Workers' Party staged a coup and set up the Socialist Syndicate. Opposition is allowed by the Syndicate, but this is moot since the Syndicate is the only party in ARNG's House of Burgesses and elections have been indefineately suspended.

PEOPLE-
Seeing as the ARNG has both been part of many empires and is extremely liberal, its people reflect this as many races, religions, and languages are represented and coexist relatively peacefully.

MILITARY-
The ARNG has had a long tradition of college students doubling as soldiers during weekend revolutions. This has accounted for the ARNG's sizeable, albiet somewhat dated, standing army. The Armed Republican Militia is currently being modernized, implementing an air force and armored divisions. What the ARM lacks in organization and modernization, it makes up for in manpower and a strong navy.
