As many nations in the region can remember, after the civil war that ravaged our island, and the fall of our government, the Democratic States of Leidestrad were formed.
In such spirit of cooperation and understanding, Leidestrad celebrated a special gathering, the Leidestrad Peace Summit.

In such meeting, historycal steps were taken, such as the elaboration and proposal of the Balkanic Peninsula Peace Agreements, which were elaborated to salvage the region from the scourge of war and disagreement. Such acts became in short time into the backbone of the regional good-will.

One year from that moment, we find a very difrent region. Nations have fallen, nations have risen. Regimes has come and gone, and governments have remained. We have gone trough civil wars, tensions, and crisis. Economies have collapsed and gone into recession, and new markets have opened.

It is that, in order to challenge this new elements of our regional daily lives, that the Elected Government of the Democratic States of Leidestrad, is proposing a new gathering, the Second Leidestrad Peace Summit.

This will be the opportunity for national leaders to come on neutral ground, and reach consensus and understanding to overcome the new challenges of The Balkans.

All national leaders are invited to assist. Please confirm your assistance to Leidestrad, and a summit date will be published as soon as possible.

Let us come now, and work together, and not apart.

New Commonwealth - November 11, 2003 06:56 AM (GMT)
Due to Borgman's insistence to bring alcoholic spirits to the Summit, the New Commonwealth has decided to match Borgidom. :P With our delegation, NC plans to bring to the delegates (for taste-testing of course ;) ), the finest wines that our vineyards have produced. We suggest to the delegates that they try the vintage 1878 Kristiana Estates Chardonnay, a crisp and refreshing taste to any palette. In addition, our delegation will be taking alone some of our best caviar (fished from the NC's very own waters) Enjoy and bon appetit to all!

P.S. We leave the hard liquor to Borgman! :D
