Title: Desing for Supertrain (Bullet)
Description: to connect Ankara and Constantinople
byzanthine - October 24, 2003 01:06 AM (GMT)
Greetings, our fellow balkans :
on this communication, i, King Franciscus Reginaldus of the Kingdom/Empire of Byzanthine, want to make a call to all interested goverments, company and others in the following project :
As known, since the fall of our brother/neighbor of Bizanthine Territories, some of their former cities, including the great and sacred city of Constantinople, has oficcially became part of our nation, with this, Dorylaeum and Constantinople became the 2 biggest and important city of our nation. Both of them, located on 2 opposites sides of our kingdom/empire.
It is our need, that, because of the lack of sea acces of Dorylaeum, the importance that Constantinople has and will have if indeed became our new capital (this matter will be decided on an election that will occur in 2 months (2 RL days)) and along several other issues, that i, along with the advice and early stimations of my advisors, ministers and high members of the senate, has created the project "SuperTrain".
Now, my idea is to have a bullet-type (or superior if possible) train to peform the route between both cities, including perhaps a stop in 1 or 2 other cities between them. Now, some specifications are as following :
* The train(s) system will not be inside the cities radius itself, but on their limits.
* The train (s) must be electrical-powered throught the line (ooc : i dont truly know how to say it, its some type of electric-magnetic type, real, btw). otherwise, must be as eco-friendly as possible, and, at the same type, be as fast (or better) than today's trains in europe and japan.
* The train must have big capacity for both passengers and cargo. passengers area should be comfortable for everybody, while not wasting too much space. Food and other services could be included. Please, keep in mind that cargo should also be of considerable capacity, since it would be very used for industrials.
*an alternative could be having 2 trains, one passengers and other cargo. please, compare prices and pros/cons for both cases if interested on alternatives.
This are some basic specifications. more could come in the way. Interested, please contact us (in this same thread). Post ideas, options, offers, etc. if possible, please include some picture that reflect your idea/proposal.
Thanks for your attention.
King Franciscus Reginaldus.
to edit : ooc : i was confused, ankara is not on my territory. will edit this on saturday.
Byzantinople - October 25, 2003 07:11 PM (GMT)
I like your electromagnet super "hover" train idea.
Who has Ankara?
Thracia - October 25, 2003 07:56 PM (GMT)
Ankara is in Selcuk (no. 44) in our map.
Actually, there is no reason why this supertrain could not connect Ankara with Constantinople, provided there is an agreement with Selcuk..
Alternatively, the route of the train can extend fro, Constantinople to Eskisehir/Dorylaion, a big city in the central part of Byzanthine.
byzanthine - October 26, 2003 12:06 AM (GMT)
Edited, already. thanks for the info, Thracia.
Indeed, the project is now from Constantinople to Dorylaeum.
Any interested on the project? we are looking for a thrustfull foreing company to take care of this project, since it requires of a technology that we have not used before, since we dont have lines of trains traveling distances so big.
byzanthine - October 31, 2003 03:00 AM (GMT)
Thracia - October 31, 2003 03:24 AM (GMT)
Well, Thracia is good only at the automobile industry. Automobiles need highways, motorways and we are good at building those, too. But trains are unfortunately not our expertise.
Yugoslovenia - October 31, 2003 03:28 AM (GMT)
We have several railways in Yugoslovenia. We don't necessarily want to send our generally secreted engineers abroad, but if your facilities need them, and are willing to foot the cost, then what the heck? Why not!?! :P
Byzantinople - October 31, 2003 03:31 AM (GMT)
Byzantinople can supply any computers your train may need.
byzanthine - October 31, 2003 04:40 AM (GMT)
O.k. Things seems to be on their track.
Thracia : We will require soon your expertice at automovilism, specifically, on public transportation. A net of bus and taxicabs. interested?
Byzantinople and Yugoslovenia : Lets start to make bussines. There is still one detail remaining : the trains itself. I mean, the desing of route, personnal, electrical distribution, building of the terminals and all will be handle by us. All computerized system will be for Byzantinople. Enginering will be peformed by both Byzanthine and Yugoslovenia. But how about the train? My people has expertice on must general trains types, but not bullet-types.
Thracia - October 31, 2003 04:55 AM (GMT)
Yes, yes, we are indeed interested.
KomoCar produces electric cars that could make excellent taxicabs, and EdiCar produces buses that run with natural gas.
Both are environment-friendly.
byzanthine - October 31, 2003 05:17 AM (GMT)
Pretty well, then. I guess is a deal. Full details will be peformed within the next days. The first 2 cities on implement this, naturally, will be Dorytaleum and Constantinople.
Montfortslavia - November 2, 2003 08:03 AM (GMT)
After revising the proposals and the interest shown by many of the nations in the region, Montfortslavia has decided to also begin plans for the inclusion of Montagar (our capital city) as a station for the bullet train.
We are confident that if Pepestonia agrees also to this proyect, the train would be a coastal link, that with the correct establishment of the port agreements, would create a very efficient communications corridor in the region.
Hence, a team of engeneers and cotractors will be ready for a meeting with the representatives of the bullet train innitiatives to begin the works as soon as possible.
Federation of Pepestonia - November 2, 2003 08:11 AM (GMT)
The Federation is also interested in this proyect. We can cooperate by providing assistance in the areas of energy procurement and aerodynamic studies.
Please send us more infomation.
Yugoslovenia - November 2, 2003 05:36 PM (GMT)
If Montfortslavia and Pepestonia are interested, Yugoslovenia would like to be a part of this coastal/international rail system.
Thracia - November 2, 2003 07:26 PM (GMT)
After the proposals of Montfortslavia and Pepestonia, the bullet train proposal has becomemuch more interesting -- and also a trans-Balkan initiative.
It makes more sense for the bullet train line to start from the Adriatic coast, go through Montfortslavia and Thracia to Constantinople, cross the Bosporus, and end up, at least for the time being to Dorylaeum. Later it would be possible to extend the line to Ankara, the capital of Selcuk, and maybe beyond Ankara.
We would love to be included in this big project, and we support it with enthusiasm.
byzanthine - November 2, 2003 08:43 PM (GMT)
Byzanthine rejoice by hearing that our idea has been acqired in such way by other fellows, and agrees with the proposal. Lets make this project a reality.
Montfortslavia - November 2, 2003 11:40 PM (GMT)
We believe that the final details and agreements for this proyect can be reached at the Leidestrad summit.
We could use this event as the starting point for the construction of a "pan-Balkan" railway.
byzanthine - November 3, 2003 12:40 AM (GMT)
We agree, Monsfortlavia, but everybody interested already on this, including us, should participate on the introduction of the project.
Thracia - November 3, 2003 02:43 AM (GMT)
The Thracian government promises to finance fully the part of the bullet railway that would fall within our country. In addition we will be particiapting by 25% in the expenses of designing and producing the bullet trains.
Finally, if this project materializes, we will be gald to show it in our map (by drawing a dark red line from the Adriatic to Dorylaeum).
Yugoslovenia - November 3, 2003 03:54 AM (GMT)
If allowed, Yugoslovenia will pay, as well, complete expenses for the rail way in Yugoslovenia. We are so excited about this new initiative!
byzanthine - November 3, 2003 03:18 PM (GMT)
As originally stipulated, The Kingdom-Empire of Byzanthine will pay full cost of the railway section inside our country(wich include the new bridge that require on Constantinople), in adition to 15% of the bullet train itself and 10% of used materials in all the railway. and will allow the employment of 200 byzanthine workers, and aditional 100 drivers on heavy machinery propiety of Byzanthine, payed entirely by us, in the construction of the ENTIRE TransBalkanic Railway, if allowed by all involved nations. However, a small armed forces (somewhere around 50 soldiers) will be asigned to protect our citizens outside our territory, if this is acepted by our asociates.
A detail to finish : Will it be 2 trains to perform a Yugoslovenia-Byzanthine and Byzanthine-Yugoslovenia travel, 4 to have more extended schedule, or only one, on wich case we believe is not enough.
Thracia - November 3, 2003 05:54 PM (GMT)
The super-bullet railway is not going to be built through any collapsed country. So the request of Byzanthine to have 50 troops providing the security of its citizens is unacceptable.
In our country the crime rate is zero (look at our nation's description). We are very good at providing the security of any person living or staying in Thracia.
We are not going to accept any troops from Byzanthine.
The Bulgarite - November 3, 2003 08:36 PM (GMT)
Although we now we are a little late, we would like to know if the super-bullet railway could be extended to Dubrovnik. We will pay the expenses for the rail way in our territory.
Thracia - November 4, 2003 12:11 AM (GMT)
The Thracian government has no objections to the extension of the bullet train line to Dubrovnik.
byzanthine - November 4, 2003 12:20 AM (GMT)
After consulting again my minister of defense, i have managed to calm down the nerves at Byzanthine Royal Armed Forces high commanders. Therefore, we do not longer request the military survelliance. My apologie for that.
We also acept the introduction of the bulgarite to the project.
Thracia - November 4, 2003 12:34 AM (GMT)
Well, we are very happy that we resolved this security-related misunderstanding.
Pavao Marijan I - November 4, 2003 01:49 AM (GMT)
The people of the Holy Empire of HRVATSKA, and His Holy Imperial Majesty Pavao Marijan I; are very intested about this idea of a transnational supertrain service on some nations of The Balkans, at the least. The last week many newspapers did an survey about it; an approximately an 76,5% are agree to the idea that HRVATSKA could be a part of such program.
We are now passing very complicated problems with our economy, and for the moment we couldn't give a finnancial assistance... but we have on HRVATSKA a little group of scientist that are on the vanguard of the Magnetic Levitation Supertrains (they are the pioneers with other scientists around the Balkans about these technologies) and also a foundation that they lead for the investigation on eco-friendly transport technologies. If the unvaluable aid of they will be accepted, we purpose that on exchange, the prize of a future service on HRVATSKA shall be cutted at the 45% and a cut of 15% on other countries.
About the subject of the 50 troops; we shall never allow the entry of any foreign forces on the whole territory of the Holy Empire of HRVATSKA. But, in exchange; we will going to allow that a trans-national-supertrain's personal without guns keeping for the security on the train. But the personal's obligation ends at the moment that passengers come out from the train, because we will not allow the exit of the train's guardians to the territory of HRVATSKA without the adecuated permissions (like to use the toillets, to buy something, etc.). First, because we have an explicit policy about territorial soberany, and last because the crime is totally unknown (for the good citizens we are, and because our excellent security forces).
We wait the answer about our purposal.
Respectfuly;
Yugoslovenia - November 4, 2003 02:39 AM (GMT)
We think that there should be between 2 and 4 separate trains going from Yugoslovenia to Byzanthine, and vise-versa. From Yugoslovenia, it could branch off to go to The Bulgarite, and then Hrvatska. This is a possible juncture that can be discussed.
Thracia - November 4, 2003 05:14 AM (GMT)
It looks like this bullet-train project is gradually becoming a truly pan-Balkan initiative.
Thracia proposes the establishment of a multinational consortium that would be responsible for the design and construction of the trains and the special railway. Byzanthine could be the "primus inter pares" (first among equals) country in this consortium.
byzanthine - November 5, 2003 01:31 AM (GMT)
Holy Empire of HRVATSKA : We are gald to hear you to join our project. We expect to hear more from your scientist, and regarding the expenses, they will all be divided in order that eazch country pay something fair enough and equal for everybody, the more, then the better.
Regarding the troops, i think i didnt explain very well, althrough thats already an old subject : My Prime Lord (Highest rank in the BRAF and necesary to became Minister of Defense) sugested to me that during the construction of the train, a small numebr of soldiers should be asigned to guard our workers and asociateds, due to the fear of attacks to them. Hence, i ask around to check how our asociateds and fellows will feel about this. After receiving Thracia position, my minister realized that this would only provoque problems, and decided to take back the proposal. Again, my apologie if i went too far in considering this.
Yugoslovenia : I believe that the train should keep the same single travel, that means, that the train that depart from byzanthine and the one that depart from the first station on the other side (since it seems that everyday the project gets bigger) should have travel all the line. but indeed, their should be several travels scheduled per day.
Thracia : We support the idea of a multinational consortium that will begin inmediatly to coordinate all regarding this project. We feel honored by the title proposed, and, althorugh first, we are all indeed equals. we are all asociates, neighobors, friends and fellows, and, with this project on course, we shall became even closer.
Geographicaly speaking, they are some gasp we need to fulfill, for instance, HRVATSKA is fully delimited on the south by Simeon the Great. How is the train gonna cross that territory, or i am missing other way?
Thracia - November 5, 2003 02:04 AM (GMT)
We would like to remind the nations participating in the supertrain project that if we were to include Hrvatska, we must also include, for geographical reasons, New Jugoslavia, and maybe Tyrinn as well.
But this may be difficult: Tyrinn is not even a member of this forum, and New Jugoslavia has not been active lately.
So....How are we going to deal with this problem?
byzanthine - November 5, 2003 03:07 AM (GMT)
Well, i have telegrammed Tyrinn and Simeon about it, althrough i didnt gave too much details really, none at all. but lt see if he is interested. and New Jugoslovenia, well, 7 days with no activity.
But, some of this nations seems to be kinda, well, isolasionist. I have never see Tyrinn or Simeon around. An barely some comunications on the public chat in NS.
Yugoslovenia - November 5, 2003 03:49 AM (GMT)
Perhaps, for geographic reasons, the rail line should go right on the boarder with these countries, or it can skim the coastline. Then there is no problem about whose land it goes over. You like?
Thracia - November 5, 2003 07:17 AM (GMT)
I think it is impossible to extend the supertrain rail line to Hrvatska without the inclusion of at least Tyrinn.
If Tyrinn participates in the project, then New Jugoslavia can be by-passed by building the rail line, after The Bulgarite's Dubrovnik territory, through the islands in the Adriatic.
If New Jugoslavia is not going to respond to our invitation, then we have to wait until this country ceases to exist. After this country's collapse we could build the rail line through New Jugoslavia.
But of ocurse the best option would be the willing participation of both Tyrinn and New Jugoslavia.
byzanthine - November 6, 2003 01:21 AM (GMT)
Well, Simeon the Great Answered me, still unsure, since he has not saw the project, but Tyrinn has not, and he was active just half hour before i loged on.
If Simeon the great and republica join, then the train could go to both HRVATSKA and The Bulgarite.
Byzantinople - November 6, 2003 02:13 AM (GMT)
How many rail lines are we proposing here? More than one I hope.
Yugoslovenia - November 6, 2003 04:38 AM (GMT)
About four. Is this correct?
Thracia - November 6, 2003 05:55 AM (GMT)
Good news:
Tyrinn has sent Thracia the following message:
| QUOTE |
Tyrinn will allow the bullet train to pass through our territory. We will also keep up our end of the bargain and supply some cash for infrastructure within Tyrinn
|
So our geographical problem seems to have been resolved -- at least, in part.
Yugoslovenia - November 6, 2003 05:59 AM (GMT)
How? The rail line still needs to go through New Jugoslavia. Doesn't it?
Thracia - November 6, 2003 06:09 AM (GMT)
Well, it will be very expensive, but we can build railway bridges that would connect all the islands of Tyrinn that are off the Adriatic coast, and also we could connect these island with the Bulgarite's Dubrovnik territory.
