Title: Second Nations, Huns Riders, Alcheringa
Description: A solution plan

Thracia - August 17, 2003 06:04 PM (GMT)
With regard to the issue of second nations, the dispute about the Huns Riders, plus the issue of Alcheringa, here is what Thracia intends to do:

(a) We have decided to separate the present from the future. In other words, the issue of whether second nations should be allowed to join the Balkans pertains to the future. The issue of whether the Huns Riders should be allowed to stay in the Balkans pertains to the present.

(b) About the issue of second nations in the future our position is NO. Given the intense and almost unanimous opposition of the nations in the Balkans, Thracia thinks no second nations should be allowed in the Balkans from now on.

© One concern about the Huns Riders is that they may get extra territory thus denying any future country from valuable land. The Huns are not going to be given extra territory. They are going to be given a small chunk of land that will be taken from Byzanthine. The Huns will be neighbors of Byzanthine.

(d) The other concern about the Huns riders is whether they will have a vote on things to be decided in this region. The Hun Riders will have the freedom to express their opinion on what is discussed in this region, but they will have no vote.

(e) The national motto of the Huns riders should change in such a way that it would make the fact that they are a second nation obvious; something like [Byz's 2nd nation].

(f) the other, obvious, second nation in the Balkans, now that Misholand has come, is the Balkan Ambassador. When Misholand was in Bulgaria, it made sense for him to have an ambassador here. But now, Misholand himself is here. He no longer needs an Ambassador. Misholand will be given the territory of the Ambassador, plus a small chunk in northern Alceringa. Thracia also asks Misholand to send his ambassador to another region. The Ambassador can now fulfill his duties as an ambassador only if he is in another region.

(g) the rest of Alcheringa will be given to Rila. Rila is in real-world the name of a mountain range in the part of Bulgaria that does ineed correspond to Alcheringa. In this sense, Rila, despite its Israeli flag, is a Bulgarian nation.

Unless there is very strong objections from nations in the Balkans, the updates are going to be done withing 24 hours.

No objections

I know it's a little late to answer to this but the issue stays. And current Tolomakia-New Russian Czar disagreements makes it a good time to raise this issue :D

After carefully (re-)reading the above explanations it came to my attention a clear discrimination. While Byzanthine is forced to give some of her land for her second nations (Huns Riders), the New Russian Czar receives some more land through Anhinga. This is not fair.

Also considering the facts that the map is full and the inactive nations seem to be in vacation mode, my proposel is to move Anhinga inside the Czar's territories.

Thracia - August 28, 2003 04:42 PM (GMT)
OOC: Well, Anhinga is not really The Czar's puppet nation.

As far as I know, Anhinga is indeed controlled by a female player, closely connected to the Czar, but living in another country.

The Czar and Anhinga are two different nations. If we took Anhinga's territories away, we would be punishing her because she is close to the Czar. That is guilt and punishment by association; it is unfair. Anhinga, herself, has not been very active, but to the extent that she has, seh has been a constructive player.

Oh, that's diffrent. I was ocnfused by the fact that on the map is written: 42. Anhinga (Russian C. State). Changing the text on the map would help. I'm withdrawing my objection in this circumstances.

Russian C. State can be interpreted as Russian Czarina's State. This description was added after the "marriage" of the Czar with the Queen of Anhinga.
