Title: Tech Burst

An easy to do, great-looking effect.
1. Start a new image. I just used 200x200.
2. Fill the image in black.
3. Using a brush ( I used square, size 9 ) at 50% opacity, white color, make a bunch of lines all over the image, like so:

4. Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation ( Colorize to your liking ).
5. Copy the layer.
6. Set the new layer's blending mode to Linear Burn.
And you're finished. Here is my final result:

Well, I'm using PSP 8, and I don't think there's a Linear Burn, but if you use Difference, you can get this effect:

This looks really cool if you use colors other than black and white. I think I'll try different layers with different colors, too.

Here's the window I was working in, so you can see the layer settings.

Huh, didn't attach.
EDIT: Sorry if it looks kinda funny
The levels are 36 for Layer One, 100 for Layer Two, and they are both set to Difference. Here's an attachment just of the image.

That looks... erm... well to put it frankly, it looks as if you could do it in paint. So, I suggest trying the color dodge or color bum for a more advanced looking effect.
If my remark was offensive, then I am sorry and I take it back ^_^

Well, at least I know the only place I can go is up. ^_^
I don't have Color Burn or Linear Burn, just Burn. Here's the effect I get.

There, now it looks much more photoshop-ish. ^_^
