The Monster Deep Within
A monster comes from the shadows so dark
Threatening to rip your sanity apart.
You can’t see it coming, yet you feel something there
Something that terrifies, it’s your ultimate fear
You feel it like a cold breeze that sends chills up your spine
But you can’t wrap yourself in warmth and make everything fine
It comes for you and hunts like a master predator
It comes to you always, don’t bother locking the door
Locking the windows wont help, it will still come
Continuing its deeds that make you come undone
You’ll try to run; some will think that they can fight
But you can’t win the battle that comes, overpowering the light.
So just give up and give in to the power
Of rage and hatred inside, causing you to cower.
It will consume, it will shake you up
Don’t fight it now, just give up.
It masters us all, no matter who we are
You can’t escape from your own devilish part.
So your heart will fill with rage as your heart will fill with cold
But isn’t that the way, that this emotion goes.
