When I met you I was all alone
Cold and shivering crying all unknown.
You lifted my head and said 'Don't you cry'
Nights of sorrow were replaced with
gentle thoughts and reassuring praises.
Hurt has left me and drifted off alone
you've refilled its place and made a home.
Now my heart feels your warm glow by
just imagining your smile.
Just by meeting you I feel better
and I know you will never treat me bitter.
I havn't much I can give you in return
only my heart and a promise not to turn.
I know I don't deserve a treasure like you
there really are no words to explain my gratitude.
But I now smile at the thought of you, everything
about you makes me chuckle and sigh in relief
that I have finally felt the feeling
everyone has longed for.
