Cash, a singer and songwriter, whose work sparked a revival of American country and western music, died early today of complications from diabetes, according to officials at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tenn. He was 71.Cash, who suffered the loss of his beloved wife June Carter Cash in May, had been hospitalized for two weeks with an unspecified stomach ailment, but had been released from Baptist Hospital in Nashville on Wednesday.

It is indeed a sad day in music history. So many grates are leaving us this year...

Johnny Cash will forever be remembered, and will remain in the hearts of many. He was a great man who my grandfather looked up too just as much as I did...he they were alot like each other....i met Johnny Cash when I was little and have admired him since then and forever shall I admire him. He is in a better world and very happy b/c he is now in his angel June's arms and him and her will never part again...they'll have eternal rest and happiness in the kingdom above.

June & Johnny....the perfect match....made in heaven....now they are rejoined there for eternity. We love you, we miss you, and you will not be forgotten.
