Title: Blackout
Description: Largest Blackout in US History

Jae Hoon - August 15, 2003 09:30 PM (GMT)
As many of you know, much of the upper east coast and part of Canada hit a blackout late last night. Most of the power is still down and fingers are being pointed in every different direction possible. Seems like to me from the news I can gather that its the outdated system the U.S. uses to run the power. Aparantely the grid system we use should have been updated long ago, but the powers that be didnt want to lose the money they were getting with the system they already have. Alot of people have been sleeping on the streets, not being able to get back to there homes. People have been trapped inside subways all night and are just now being able to get out of the cars. Flights have been delayed and cancelled all day, with whats looking like no end in sight. Im sure there are people that post here that still dont have power at this very moment.

i heard about it on the news. i don't really feel sorry for the americans over there, because of what that one country said. they have been having a blackout for 3 months. and the us gets upset over a few days. i wonder why the us doesn't do anything. the people there sound like they're going to rebel and start a war or something.
man, the hospitals.... they have no air con.

I was lucky that I did not ride subway. But I already went to college before blackout began. I walked from college (Queens) to home (Manhattan) for more than four hours. *sigh*

I heard about it, my parents were glued to the TV watching it. I felt really bad for the people who didn't have power. And just the other day I was wishing I lived in NY...

It sounded like Columbus Park (near Court Houses). If not, then it may Sara Roosvelt Park. (I do know only two parks in Chinatown) Oh...yeah... I live in Chinatown. Yes... too many people... (too many cars, buses, and trucks were stuck near Manhattan Bridge). The traffic on that street got clean after 2 in morning. >.<
