Eternal Suffering

I walk down the street, the lights are dim
An aching dawns in all of my limbs
I start to feel tired but a minute ago
I was alert in the moon light’s glow
What has happened that I cannot see?
What could have possibly overtaken me?
I sit on a bench, hands perch on my shoulders
All of a sudden, I start to feel cornered
I begin to rise but I can’t feel my feet
I can’t hear a thing but my racing heartbeat
A voice speaks soft close to my ear,
“Where do you think you are going, my dear?”
I reply, “I was hoping, praying to go
Maybe home where I feel safe. Ya know?”
He chuckles and reaches around in front
“Where’s the fun? Where is the hunt?”
He tells me to rise and my legs obey
“Come, it is the time to play.”
He smiles at me, sends chills down my spine
My vision turns black, I walk along blind
“You don’t need to see where we are bound
Soon it’ll be where you’ll always be found.”
So he leads me down and I keep walking
I feel myself panic as he continues talking
“Why do you want me, why are you here?”
“Don’t wonder bout that, there’s nothing to fear.
He wills his words deep but I fight with my soul
Trusting to go with what I know
I hear a growl and feel more afraid
I experience a fall as his power invades

I wake up with the light of a delicate shine
The rest of the room filled with shadows, malign
Rising to sit, I see all around
Dark, grey curtains fall to the ground
Dressers of pine, a long watching glass
A bed of crimson; tray of ash
Fire place fumes on the opposite wall
How I got here I can’t recall
“You’re finally awake. Good now rise.
It’s time to eat so join me to dine.”
I stand and find I’m in a new dress
A rich red gown with a soft caress
“Red is your color, its really quite nice
You have darkness in you to suffice.”
I don’t ask for what, I just eat
I feel so tired, I feel so beat.
He watches me eat, keeping eyes on my neck
“Stop,” he says quickly. “It’s time for my snack.”
I get up and run, moving to the door
Slippery shoes slip on the floor
I cry out, “No!” and remove the heels
Get to the door and a hand appears
I turn around and who do I see?
The creature himself, red eyes on me
He clasps my chin and turns me to the side
He bites my bare neck, I fight with my might
Nothing is done and soon I am weak
I can’t struggle against him as my life just leaks
My kneels buckle and he holds me up
Pressed to his body as he savagely sucks
I enter a dream; I can’t feel my body
He suddenly lets go, I fall in a heap
I lie there pale and he wipes his mouth
He leans down close and a whimpers let out
“Please, don’t,” I plead with him
“Don’t worry dear, you’re a daily feast.”
He picks me up and lies me in bed
Moves in behind, warm and fed
I begin to fall, to the deep void
I hear him say, “You are mine to employ.”

I sleep all day, all alone
Till I fill his need of blood he owns
Then we sleep, him with me warm
The next morning comes, I’m then forlorn
This is my life, I serve as a meal
Dinner at night, enough so I’m weak
Then rest and recover for the next day
Always to be his servant always
I am bound, he drinks from me
This is my life, its why I can be
