Title: CN...Anime for Fanboys?!
Sabin R. Figaro - August 11, 2003 11:06 PM (GMT)
You ever notice how once CN airs any good anime, alot of stupid Fanboys then start to watch it...and since it came on CN, it's instantaiously "cool"...I hate CN now, once they've aired an anime it's hard to find a good Chat/Forum/Board/Ect. To post on once all the fanboys have infested it >.>...this seems to work with anything new Square produces btw..but lets not discuss that here, shall we =P

It is true, CN has a huge fanbase my a large part of the stupid masses. Cartoon Network was a gateway for me into the world of anime and I kind of thank them for that, but these people rely on CN for all thier stuff because thier cheap bastards or they feel that whatever isn't on tv can't possibly be cool or exsist.

Well... Cartoon Network is ok, not best. I think. =/

I agree... they are getting better though. At least they have non-mainstream stuff...

I find recently CN is getting better animes yes, but there Fanbase is also in return getting larger, making it hard to find people for decent conversations>.> My gateway to Anime...was a group of Anime Freaks...who hate Dubbed anime <.< so yeaaaaah, I've never like CN anime to much although I tend to prefer dubbed anime

it really depends on how its translated, sometimes the dub will have cooler stuf than the sub and viise versa, it's hard to find a good dub, si ostly stick with subs, i do hat cn for the defilement of good anime's but still, they do bring some good stuff every now and again

As much as I dislike alot of what they show, I think CN is good for anime. It maynot show everything there actually is in the anime but it does get people at least interested in it. Once they get interested they venture off into other animes that arent edited and start to really enjoy anime. Believe it or not alot of people really got into anime from watching something on CN then going to other things, they would just never admit to it.

Jae...that's kinda my point here...the Fanbase on CN...is mostly "fanboys"...and they are really annoying, so one Fanboy likes the anime, then they start finding other animes...then you haved to deal with fanboys on Anime message boards (as well as Game boards) ^.^ But some cool people do find anim through CN, so I'll give you that Jae

It not really fair to blame the channel for the masses of idots that flood the net with mindless dribble. But yeah I agree that thier is to much stupidity in the anime community but ya know it's the same thing for anything else. Just look at trekkies *cringes*

Blegh, yeah, but still, The fact that now CN bends to the will of the morons...showing an hour or more of DBZ a day is wrong...I mean, How could it even be legal!?

Thats true some people do end up like that, ive found myself wanting to pummel acouple of them. But then there is people like me, I watched alittle bit of anime before I watched CN but not much, CN is really what got me hooked and now I watch all types of animes and mangas.
