Ah, this thread poped up alot later than I would have expected! Anyway, my favorites:

Anime - Mobile Suit Gundam. Best mecha show ever.peroid.

manga - Akira. Best manga ever.period.

Anime - Evangelion (the only one i watched XP)
Manga - Angelic layer (so close! i like loads ^^)

I think mine are somewhat obvious ^^;;;
