Did you prefer the original Bubble Gun Crisis or 2040? I liked 2040 alot better myself, I know it came out awhile after the first but everything seemed better about it. The story, plot, characters, direction of the story, it all just seemed better.

Yeah its cheap, I bought the whole box set of 2040 for 40 dollars.

Iv only seen the origenal BgC so I would have to go with that. I like the hard-rock sound track and "cyberpunk" Style(just reading off the back of the box).

The original OVA. Hands-down. BGC OVA is the best "hot babes kicking butt" anime of all time!
First off, the animation in 2040 is awful. The first ep of the OVA BGC blew, yeah, sure, but it got progressively better, and in my opinion became one of the best looking/stylistic animes of the 80s (read: the golden years). Cyber-punk feel only rivaled by Ghost in the Shell. The new BGC animation is mediocre at best. I hated the highly different character designs, and the suits of the knight sabers were worse. It isn't a bad anime, no way, just not nearly as good as Bubblegum Crisis OVA is. It isn't as cyber-punk, in my opinion, too, which is bad.
