Title: ex-gays

There is a new movement by men, and some women( i have only heard men) that were declared homosexuals but now are identified as straight. They believe that it is posibble to readjust your preferences. But isnt that holding yourself back? Arent you hiding yourself? And most of the members were harrassed for being gay, disowned or deeply religious. So it makes sense why they felt they needed to change. Even when this movement tried to start up in the 1990s, the leaders of the past are recently pronounced to e once again, homosexual.
Just this night, i overheard my suitemate breakign down and screaming almost about this issue. One of her friends is gay and i have met him. He is one of the most kindest souls I have ever met. He will connect with you right when you meet. It seems that she was confronted with this or he was for was yelling hw it was unfair. It turns out he had a great childhood and always kne he was gay. SHe said that he had told her that he couldnt be any other way. She cried over the woes of her freinds and wat he has to go through to just fit in and NOT be prosecuted for wat he KNOWS he is. When it comes to the point of a young woman crying in misery for the unfortunate pressures for her friend then i say it goes to far.

Why do people feel that it is their right to dictate people's lives now? The bush administation feels it, his suporters do. But just because they dont believe or like a way of living does not mean he can tell someone to become straight and love a man or woman. I think this subject holds a lot of opinions and controversies but so wat? My teacher told me not to worry about offending anyone. I will take his advice now and say - i dont care for anyone who thinks that homosexuality is wrong. For that means that they presume that their minds are great enough to run someones life. No ones way of living can be imposed upon another but why odnt people understand that? someone help me answer this please..

This is silliness. if being gay/lesbian/bi/trans was a choice, why would anyone "become" one if they're happy being heterosexual? And if you could get out of it, why exactly? If you're comfortable, why no be who you are? I don't understand the over-whelming urge to be like everyone else, except for your points, but then again (like you said) it doesn't often work, BECAUSE IT ISN'T A CHOICE.

I'm not really sure why people want to impose their beliefs on others. Frankly, I couldn't care less if someone was gay or "straight." I know many lesbians and homosexuals that are really nice, smart people. The only difference is that they're attracted to the same sex! WHO CARES??? It isn't immoral, well, in the eyes of a non-chrisitian. =p And really, give me one good reason why it would be considered immoral, except that 'god said so' which is total garbage.

im doing this flyer to get them to change their minds. Im just gonna try and neutralize their arguements with law. you kno wat is funny? some actually beleieve that this country was started by religion or at least formed from it. yea thats why we were sayig taxation without representation. ive actually looked at the bible. the only reason the bible says its wrong is becuase 1) its disgusting and 2) god hates it. wow those are so powerful. this is all really stupid. so i am gonna convince them that they are really just withholding people from gaining rights that they are entitled. but oh well.

oh and also - this country is way off course when the UNITED states america is not UNITED. we are supposed to be here for each other. somehow everyone who voted lost sight of the obvious meaning of this cou ntry. and france has 98 cathlic.. they allow it. something wrong with us here?

Well...

%60 of the Founding Fathers were Orthodox; %38 of them were Protestant; %2 were Agnostic. So meh. Christianity is embedded in our culture, but who cares? It's blind christians who don't question the bible that state that it's wwrong the be a homosexual, not christians in general. And we're blaming christianity too much... I know of many people who laugh at religion and hate gays.

Your point on the bush administration is a bit extreme. yes, he is a christian, a pretty hard-core one at that, but he isn't saying "HOMOS ARE EVIL!!!" he just says they can't marry. His administration isn't responsible for creating the social-rejection of homosexuality... it's a combination of religion and ignorance.

But your point about how France allows it and America doesn't, even though there is a large catholic population there, is very troubling.

For starters...who are we to judge other people and what they choose to do with life. This is a really hot topic right now b/c of the gay marriage issue, but shouldn't be one. People should be allowed to love whom they want, and they should be allowed to be gay if they find it to be what they want out of their life. You are allowed to be straight, why cant you be allowed to be gay?

i didnt say it was wrong? no. i am bi. and its wrong to judge people on their lifestyle. tis just that people are so uncomfortable with it. and some christians and god people savers are all about saving our souls-- everyones. personaly i can take care of my soul. but thats what they think and they are automatically putting christian morality with the government making a complete illegal break on the seperation of church and state. the government is being stupid now. even our president is breakign the law over and over. lying to his people hellO! im looking at other countrie sto live in till the term is over.
