Midnight Visitor

I’m sleeping in my bed, my dream gets worse
A heavy curtain falls, the beginning of a curse.
I try to wake but I soon fall deep
When I hear a voice say, “Sleep, my beauty, sleep.”
I start to get nervous, try to wake again
I finally open my eyes, think another dream begins
A handsome man looks down, gazing into my face
I feel myself get lost, my heart starts to race.
I sit up quick and move slowly back
“What do you want, why are you here,” I wait for an attack
But he just sits looking hard into my eyes
His eyes are pools of blue easy to capture mine
But there’s no use and I soon fall
Into his eyes, into it all
He calls to me with just a gaze
I feel confused and very dazed
My whole world fills with this man
With dark features only God can grant
He talks to me with a seductive tone,
“Come here, my darling, please come close.”
I feel afraid when he voices his wish
But I am captured by his voice, so rich
I move closer, his hands hover above
I look up and see his eyes, his love
I smile and sigh as I fall further for
This stranger who I’ve never seen before
He touches my face and sighs a breathe
His hands are of smooth and softened flesh
I rest my cheek upon his palm
Feel his skin that is so warm
I kiss his palm, hear him sigh
He holds he close as time flies by
He whispers nothings in my ears
And slowly, gently strokes my hair
I feel like a child in a parent’s embrace
And then he moves, moves with haste
To the open curtain, into the breeze
Moving quick with graceful ease
I look at him and feel my cheek burn
He says then, “Don’t worry, I’ll return.
I promise I will. By your side I’ll be.
I cannot even ever leave my beauty.”
So I watch him go, feel my heart fall
As I feel my whole being give into his call.
I was his, forever to be
I was ready to give all of me.
