Title: The Village
Canitoch - July 14, 2004 04:44 AM (GMT)
ANyone seeing this? I want to, but I sure hope that they don't show the evil creature. M. night shammalan (however you spell his name) I think, his mistake was showing the alien in Signs.
IT WAS SO SCURRY WHEN HE DIDN'T SHOW THE ALIEN! Butwhen he did..it was like "oh..:/"
Psyva - July 23, 2004 02:35 AM (GMT)
I definitely want to go see The Village. The whole premise behind it looks very intriguing, in my opinion. I also enjoy watching Joaquin Phoenix. Sigourney Weaver and William Hurt certainly are two interesting additions to the cast for sure. I have enjoyed all of M. Night Shyamalan's films so hopefully this one will be just as fun to watch and suspenseful. I'll admit that I didn't care for the fact that he unveiled the aliens in Signs. If all goes well, he won't make that mistake again.

They seem more like dictators than evil monsters in the woods. SO many rules..blah blah balh *goes to thearte*
Why cant you jus like move? NO we have to waste our time and get killed..so stupid hahaha

The commercials looked kinda freaky. Spooky choices of music too. I'll prolly wait until it's on cable or dvd though.
Threepwood - July 23, 2004 11:15 PM (GMT)
M Nights been known to have plot holes galore in his movies, which may affect my decision to see it. The previews make it look spooky though, and this is a good date movie according to my cousin.
Canitoch - July 24, 2004 06:22 AM (GMT)
SIgns didnt have any plot holes..it made since after you went through the movie and figured it out. Though I wasnt paying attention to it..but I found out..^^

You know what? I just saw this movie. You know what? IT SUCKS!!!!
I think that you should skip it and see the Manchurian Canidate or some other movie.
God. The ending and the whole "plot twist" was so damned stupid. =/ I can't get over it. The buried secret thing on sci-fi was better than that and that was stupid. God. Horrible movie.
Bill Gates - July 31, 2004 04:32 AM (GMT)
I guess it's a good thing I decided right off the bat that I was gonna wait until it's on tv/dvd. Thanks for the info Ben ^-^

Ben it was not a horrible movie! -_-
Don't listen to him, it was a good movie! xD And the ending rocked! You just don't like it because it doesn't show alot of stuff. -_- It's like a monsters inc. ending. You know? Like it doesn't SHOW you everything. >_> I think those are the best endings.
Anyway it was a good movie, and yes I agree the twist got me a little disappointed, but it was good none the less. And besides, when they tell you the twist, its so confusing, I didn't know about the twist until my sister told me when the movie ended. >_> I should've just kept it that way.
Anyway, yes, I liked this movie, it wouldn't be something I think to buy, but it was good.
And that guy, Lucius, or whatever, I liked him, he was cool. xD

Shaydah!! They TOLD you flat out everything TWICE!! They do SHOW you everything. -_-
Shawn Michaels - July 31, 2004 03:11 PM (GMT)
But they say it in weird ways. And no they don't show you everything, I'd say what they didn't show but I'm not saying it first these poor souls.
Aoshi Shinomori - July 31, 2004 03:15 PM (GMT)
You know the part in the woods right? The hole? THAT part. -_-
Shawn Michaels - July 31, 2004 03:22 PM (GMT)
What about that part? Why was the hole there in the first place? And why're you saying parts of the movie. >_> Some people don't like SPOILERS, Ben.
And the part they didn't show...I'm talking about the ending when
SPOILERSSSSSSS
You know, when she comes and she's like "I'm back!" And that's all, they don't show if the medicene worked or not. It just keeps you wondering. Yup yup. Those creatures were creepy too, God when he ran? I like jumped and grabbed Shaudi's arm. xD And I hated Noah, I mean wtf man. He was retarded, and I have no idea why he ran after her. He's a friggin' psycho. I love the part though when she's waiting for Lucius though, and when he comes, you see the guy in the background, I've seen it in the trailers and all, but I was like "NO." Still, you know? I wish this town had creatures like that, that'd be so cool.
Aoshi Shinomori - July 31, 2004 03:25 PM (GMT)
The part up there wasn't a spoiler
SPOILER!!!!!!!!
He was already dead Shaydah when Ivy got back from the town. The hole was there, I dont know why, but when he fell in and you saw his face. That was the biggest clue EVER. It was a horrible movie.
Edit: Get on aim Shaydah xD
Shawn Michaels - July 31, 2004 03:32 PM (GMT)
SPOILER!!!!
I know Noah was already dead when Ivy got to the town. >_> I saw his face. And okay, I knew he was at least one of the creatures, but I just figured he was retarded and made his own costume to scare people because he's an idiot. And I thought that because when they had that evacuation kinda thing, he was with Ivy and them, and there was still that guy going around, and I couldnt explain that.
END SPOILER
It was not a horrible movie. It was a good movie.
By the way though, you know the previews? xD The Incredibles? My brother and me shouted out "YES." when it went on. xD Except I said it because I really wanna see that movie, my brother did it because he thought it was "Thunderbirds" ((Which will be a really bad movie the guy isn't even good-looking))
ANYWAY YES, GOOD MOVIE, GO WATCH IT.
And I can't go on aim, I'm on a school compy.
Aoshi Shinomori - July 31, 2004 03:39 PM (GMT)
DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE! WAIT UNTIL DVD/TV!!
Thunderbirds looks like crap and incredibles does look aweseome! Well I have to turn my computer off, bye. shaydah, for a month
Shawn Michaels - July 31, 2004 03:42 PM (GMT)
NO! WATCH IT IN THE THEATERSSS! -_-
Buh-bye creature, I shall fly overseas then join the army in Iran and kill America.
Bill Gates - July 31, 2004 09:15 PM (GMT)
AGH! Contradictory reviews! What to do..what to do.. o.o; I need a third opinion now!
Threepwood - August 1, 2004 02:57 AM (GMT)
I saw it, and even though M. Night Shymalamadingdong makes odd movies, this one was pretty good. The villiage it was set in though, didn't fit in the era they tried to establish. Still pretty neat
Psyva - August 1, 2004 05:33 PM (GMT)
I thought it was a very good movie. I also was let down in a few spots but that's life. It certainly wasnt what I expected but that's usually the case with his movies =P. I actually jumped at one scene lol. I was expecting major things from this movie so when I first walked out I said it was horrible but when I looked at it from an objective scale, it was actually good.
SPOILER
My favorite part of the movie was when the girl was standing at the door and she had her hand out, waiting for Lucius (sp?). I knew he was coming but eh, something about it I liked.
