widdlestilzkinmoogle - August 16, 2003 12:21 AM (GMT)
I like! i Like! :D

aj - August 14, 2003 04:15 AM (GMT)
well, i was chatting with sw and dianic a while ago... and i thought of this... amybe it's not an original idea or something... but the purpose of this is to make the whole AT community close. ^^"

maybe even just once everyweek. ^^"

right now... we have a couple of options...
  • aol/aim
  • yim
  • msn
  • mirc[although i don't know if we'll be able to get a registered channel... besides... i don't have mirc right now... deleted it... >.<"]

and yeah... if you voted yes, pls. state when you want it to be held. ^^"
[i.e. wednesday night in your place... thursday morning here.]

finally, lazy staffers and the whole AT team is required to attend... no exemption, no excuses... if you can't attend... PM one of us in advance...

what do you guys think? ^^"

redeye_ryu - August 14, 2003 04:21 AM (GMT)

Sean Connery - August 14, 2003 04:23 AM (GMT)
I like the idea of getting together. However, I don't really think it should be manditory for ALL staff members to attend...maybe just two of them or something. It makes it so that the chat is less formal and it would probably be easier on your fellow admins.
Also, for me, I don't have yim or msn (and I donno what mirc is XD), so I myself am confined to AOL/AIM.
And as for a time and day, just as long as it's 8 or later here, I guess (or before 6).

DianicBealtaine - August 14, 2003 04:24 AM (GMT)
I think that that's a good idea. I only have AIM, so basically if its up 2 me then that's what it would b held on. Anytime after 9PM, Philly time would be good for me. And pretty much any day would be good. However, having 37(at the moment) ppls on a chat room might be confusing. Maybe there is an easy way to do this, but i get confused if there r more than 10 ppls! Just something to think about...

[Neo_Sephiroth] - August 14, 2003 05:03 AM (GMT)
Ok...how bout this?

I'll get together with Kie and we'll make a mirc chat...Kie has made several chats before...so Ill talk to him about it...this will give us a long term chat room...have a few of the admins who have all the programs just add all the members to their lists...(I have already done that with AIM and MSN...)

As for manditory attendance...2 problems here...1 - Time Differences...if the meeting is held at 1pm American time then us Aussies are screwed...this is where the chat will come in handy...it will be open most if not all day...so you just have to rock up and chat...as long as people go to it...and 2 - 2 staff members can be there to handle the chat without all of us being there...its just pointless having all 5 staff members there at once...

Onto time...time is not an issue if we open the mirc chat...the real problem is who is on when...I know we have a real diverse range of people here from many time zones but the thing is that depending on who has mirc and who doesnt, the chat could end up being very inactive...imo we should encourage everyone to get mirc and go to the chat...a mirc chat would get everyone together easily enough...

Kurenai - August 14, 2003 05:04 AM (GMT)
I think its a good idea. We should have meetings when Admins, Smods, and mods want to add something to the site or wanna change something with the way AT works.
It should be a place to introduce new ideas and share ideas. It would be great to have a meeting but I dotn know about having them weekly. Oh well.
As for time, I think anytime after 4:59 PST would be awesome.
Also, I can deal with having these meetings on AOL, YIM, or IRC. It raelly doesnt matter, as long as we all can meet and discuss ^^.

[Neo_Sephiroth] - August 14, 2003 08:38 AM (GMT)
Ok...it has come to my attention that we already have a mirc chat up and running as we speak...it seems Kie made it earlier on...if you have mirc then please visit us...to get there log onto freedomirc.net (6667) and then go to #angeltide...one or more of us might be there...

Bruce Lee - August 14, 2003 08:58 AM (GMT)
When's 4:59 PST?

Personally, I don't really mind whether we have one or not. I usually don't speak on aim unless talked to. Shows how talkative I am =\. So yeah, I got nothing against it, but nothing for it either *remains a neutral*

StaTiC - August 14, 2003 10:34 AM (GMT)
It sounds good to me, but I feel it will be inactive most of the time. But I will try to be there alot.

I say we should put a time. Having the chatroom up for the whole day, will just make it inactive for the few that went to the chatroom.

Maybe we should put the chatroom for like 5 hours and then it ends, or 10, then more members will "get" the idea of when to come, cuz if someone comes at a time when it's inactive. They'll probably just leave it a window on the bottom and not touch it alot.

I think we should set up a time, regardless of who lives where, and the time length should be around like 5-15 hours only, on one date.

aj - August 14, 2003 03:45 PM (GMT)
no, what i'm proposing is a meeting... not a chatroom...

and about staffs... well, you accepted the position... responsibility should come hand-in-hand with it... if you're not going to go there... don't expect the members to be there also... you should be the role models...

and yeah, you can always PM us in advance to say that you won't be able to attend...

and finally... we have a lot of aol/aim chats every now and then... i don't think this would be much of a trouble...

btw, i don't have mirc[reformatted and never d/led it again.] so you just go ahead and talk to bots there. ^^"

i repeat... the purpose of this is to form a bond between the members... so AT will be a close community... and along with it... some real discussions also. of course, we won't mind to have some random chats. ^^"

Byaggha - August 14, 2003 03:45 PM (GMT)
Indeed. need set time. I'm way too used to idling :D

Mr. T - August 14, 2003 06:12 PM (GMT)
It sounds like a good idea to me. I'm usually on every night, so it shouldn't be a problem. And most every night there is a chat with AT members on AIM. I don't know how to use mirc though. (I tried, but I had 8 million errors.) So, AIM would really be best for me. Maybe on the weekend or something to have it, so most everyone will be able to get on.

Bill Gates - August 14, 2003 11:53 PM (GMT)
I can get on AIM and MSN..AIM is preferred though..just depends on when you guys want to have it.

Shawn Michaels - August 15, 2003 12:12 AM (GMT)
Theres one going on now, on AIM.

Bill Gates - August 15, 2003 11:53 PM (GMT)
I think I was probably in that one...lol

Well, whenever you guys get together again, invite me ^^

BP9 - August 16, 2003 10:52 PM (GMT)
A members meating would be fun perferably AIM i can do YIM and i need to make a name on MSN but MIRC..i hate that thing but if we do invite me!

widdlestilzkinmoogle - August 17, 2003 12:37 AM (GMT)
i am wondering...
what if we have a specific time for the meetings or something like that? I always seem to get invited when i have to get off lol . ^^.

tedi - August 30, 2003 06:59 AM (GMT)
one. it is a good idea
two. cant always make it
three. once every 2 weeks instead because of lack of news over one week
four. hold on a weekend
five. well i cant think of a 5th but just imagine i did

there's my two cents

Aoshi Shinomori - August 31, 2003 05:05 AM (GMT)
I think Yahoo would be best, just for the voice chat, though I feel like im the few who would like Yahoo best for that.

Shawn Michaels - August 31, 2003 02:01 PM (GMT)
Actually I second on your vote "dubtitled" I like voice chats better, and I think yahoo's better too, concerning everything, including smilies. But alot of people just don't have yahoo.

StaTiC - August 31, 2003 03:47 PM (GMT)
I am up for Yahoo. Need to get my mic hooked up if you people do plan on haveing a voice chat one. But, thats not a big deal....

StaTiC

Mr. T - August 31, 2003 04:12 PM (GMT)
If people want Yahoo, I can always download it. But I can't do Voice Chat cause I don't have a mic. If you have aim though, just get some of the members ims. There is usually a chat every night.

Aoshi Shinomori - August 31, 2003 11:48 PM (GMT)
Why dont we just create a chat on yahoo and if you wanna go in, then ok, if not, then ok but whoever goes in and out blah blah voice chat blah blah etc.

Shawn Michaels - September 29, 2003 12:10 AM (GMT)
...What?

Aoshi Shinomori - May 29, 2004 12:33 AM (GMT)
...........nothing, nevermind.
