Description: Its out now...

Toushiro Hitsugaya - November 22, 2005 07:19 PM (GMT)
So.... who here plans on getting one???.... not me....

Is it just me or does any one else not see a big differance from the X-BOX??? It just dosent impress me like the PS3 does.... so im saving up....

Jack Thompson - November 22, 2005 07:42 PM (GMT)
Pfft, forget the 360. Revolution is the way to go, yo!

Bill Gates - November 22, 2005 11:20 PM (GMT)
PS3! PS3! PS3!

I still don't even have a 'box, so there's no way anyone's gonna catch me with a 360.

Even after all these years, they still don't have any games that interest me in the slightest. <_<

Matt - November 22, 2005 11:45 PM (GMT)
i notice that alot of the PS2 games arefor your role playing delight so i think that's why you odn't like xbox katie, or you could just hate it just cause, i dunno

i love Xbox cause of the rediculous amount of sports and shooters, i'm getting a 360 ASAP

Sean Connery - November 22, 2005 11:47 PM (GMT)
My little brother is asking for it for christmas (which means I get to play with it when he inevitably loses interest YAY!)

Bruce Lee - November 22, 2005 11:55 PM (GMT)
Nope, never getting it. PS3 and Revolution woo!

Jack Thompson - November 23, 2005 12:16 AM (GMT)
The only good X-Box EXCLUSIVE game was Halo, and I'm NOT paying over $100 just to play something I can play at my friend's house.

Batman - November 23, 2005 02:46 AM (GMT)
360 is more of an upgraged vesion of the Box, not worthy of the "Next Generation" title. Go the Revolution :D, now thats innovation, can't wait to try out the sick controller

Toushiro Hitsugaya - November 23, 2005 02:52 AM (GMT)
It should be known as the X-BOX 1.5.....

Jack Thompson - November 23, 2005 03:20 AM (GMT)
Let's see, why do they call it the 360? If you travel 360 degrees, you end up right where you started. Which, when you come down to it, describes the 360 perfectly: it's an X-Box.

Now, the Revolution, on the other hand, is going to be AWESOME! I can't wait to see what FPS's are like on it! :D

HA... that so true...

They need to put the Bushido Blade games on the Revolution.... how freakin cool would that be!!!? using the controller as a sword.... The possibilities are endless...

xDDD!

Oh, and Matt...You're right. I don't play sports games whatsoever (They're pointless to me. If I wanna play sports, I'll go outside and play the real thing, yo) and FPS...not interested. I'm more of a RPG and Music game person nowadays, and I'm also a Squeenix whore, so the X-Box offers me nothing that I want. Never has ^^,

X-Box is a typical American made console: majority of it's games consisiting of bloody violence, weapons, death and destruction, and sports. <_< Go figure.

PS3 and Revolution > 360

Triton_DeBloom - November 23, 2005 08:23 AM (GMT)
Yeah, nintendo's stepping up again. FPS' should really be a trip to play as well as first person sword fighting. I'd actually like to see a RTS on it, with the simple point and click controller it should work.

Playstation 3, um, OMFG WTF ROXXORS! *coughs* Now that that's out of my system. Yeah, Sony, w00t!

XBox 360, I playtested one at wal-mart the other day (omfg xbox! for those that don't know me i'm a spearhead point of xbox haters) and though the graphics for the game King Kong were rather breath taking the d*** n00b controller prevented me from even begining to like the game. Seriously, if you're going to have dual analog make them at a level setting, and the trigger shoulder buttons are so close together and also at uneven placement you can't use your trigger finger and middle finger co-operatively meaning it's rather difficult to hold the controller. So in short and in l337. XBox 360 = teh ghey.

Seriously, there was nothing appealing at all about it. The only thing i'm liking so far about the 360 is this gamecard feature you can use online to kind of keep track of your games and community stuff (XFire!) but as far as the system, nothing. Just plain and simple last years thing dressed up pretty for another year.

And whats wrong with that? XD...

I love sports games...but they have plenty enough on PS2/PS3...and the fact is, some of the ones I really want to play are playstation exclusive titles...so whats the point?

Here is my 2 cents about each console:

- XBox 360:
To be honest, I kinda liked the xbox in terms of how it looked...granted, the massive size was a turn off, but the black and green looked good, and it would go with anything in the room...however, the new one looks just plain ugly...and you can see they're trying to make it look like a PC tower...

Another appealing thing about the xbox is the whole hard drive concept...as much as I think consoles should stay as far away as possible from the PC setup, having a hard drive, rather than tons of memory cards is a great idea...and a removable one is also a nice feature...

Also, the exclusive titles they have on the xbox are for the most part mostly for casual gamers...for me, if you want to play a shooter for any length of time, you do so on PC...I will admit, there are alot of very good console FPS's, but the fact of the matter is, a keyboard and mouse kicks the crap out of a controller for FPS's simply because there is more variety with the controls, and hence, you can do alot more in the game...plus, online support on the PC is already great, whereas the live service and PS2 online are still in there infancies...plus, as mentioned before, the controller for the xbox, and now the 360 one, is just inconvenient, and looks ugly too...

- Revolution:
Really, for something that is billed to rescue Nintendo in this race, I really am not thrilled about this one...the controller may be completely different, but it doesnt make it appealing...its way too much like a remote, and after playing games with the PS2 remote, its just not functional...why anyone would want to play with one hand is beyond me...and then that add on dpad that allows 2 handed play really seems like a tacked on extra to keep people like me happy...I also think they still are behind the 8-ball with the dvd compatibility...it should have happened with the cube...

That being said, it looks sharp, and I must say the simplicity has a real appeal to it...plus backward compatibility is a big issue for me...I dont particularly like forking out 100 bucks for a game and then having it rot away because my new console doesnt accept it...so any console with some sort of compatibility with previous consoles is a winner in my book...plus, I also like how they have stayed away from the jack-of-all-trades approach...while sony and moneysoft have opted to add dvd player/gaming/coffee machine/etc functionality into their consoles, Nintendo have stayed specialised, and I think it is a credit to them...although, they need to produce more games this time around...

- PS3:
Now, this looks like a thing to be reckoned with...It easily looks the most stylish imo...it is backwards compatible with all playstation games ever...it supports blue ray, which I think is a definate winner due to the increased capacity...the built in network adapter helps alot too...not to mention whats inside...while the 360 is probably up there in terms of graphics power...the PS3 has more going for it...so thats not a decision Ill spend much time on...

However, I do have a few problems...namely the controllers...not only does it look like it designed by a 2 year old...it just doesnt look like something very ergonomic...what was great about the PS2 controller was that it was extremely easy to hold and use...Xbox was too big, gamecube buttons were all over the shop...PS2 was nice and easy to use...now though, this controller just looks like its not easy to hold and use...which is a big no no...plus, who in their right mind thought of having 7 simultaneous controllers? 7 is such a stupid number for this sort of thing...the reason why 8 or 4 or even 6 is a good number is because you can then have even teams without rotation if you have max players...7 obviously doesnt allow this...and what about all those PS2 games where you could have 8 players playing with 2 multitaps? What do we do then?

In conclusion...each console has its flaws...as would be expected...but overall my consensus is:

PS3 >> Xbox 360 > Revolution

I chose it this way because for what it's supposed to do, the Revolution just doesnt seem like a good option...and really, it only seems like a detriment to Nintendo...thats not to say they are far behind the 360...I have no intention whatsoever to buy a 360, because it really does not impress me that much either...but I chose it over the Nintendo console because it does have a few more features that seem more redeeming than it...but, the PS3 just blows both of them out of the water imo...so yeah...

Jack Thompson - November 23, 2005 04:36 PM (GMT)
Another one of the great features of the Nintendo Revolution, is that it's rumored that you may be able to go online with it and purchase classic NES, SNES, and N64 games! As long as the price isn't too steep, it'd be great to take a break from playing Mario Kart Revolution (my title, not Nintendo's) to play FF1 for a while...without even having to change systems, or go onto my computer or anything! And to all you Revolution haters out there, I say this: Tri-axis, tri-dimensional motion sensitivity, yo!

Xen si - November 23, 2005 06:15 PM (GMT)
X-Box 360?! No way.. PS 3 is probably gonna make it look like Atari, but I'm still Nintendo faithful (even though they hardly make anything good these days) so I'll be getting the Revolution.

You cant compare the X-BOX 360 to an ATARI!!!!!!

Hands down the ATARI kicks the 360's @$$...

xDDD!! Burn, baby, BUUUUURN!

I hear the 360 sold out pretty quick the first day, but I bet it flops in Japan. If it does a 360, of course...which it prolly will; just follow in it's predecessors footsteps :P

and I bet the future sales of the PS3 and the Revolution will be like, double. ^_^

Toushiro Hitsugaya - November 25, 2005 08:51 AM (GMT)
you should'nt burn 360s..... i bet they put out a lot of deadly black smoke, and the smoke would most likely be in the shape of a screaming skull.....

Psyva - November 25, 2005 06:07 PM (GMT)
Actually if you burn it, it will probably explode or something. I have the 360 and to be honest I'm not impressed at all. I personally cannot wait until the PS3 comes out. Revolution? Ehh I may try it but I don't know... I'm not too excited about that controller. PS3... Well I'm a die hard Sony supporter so obviously I'm excited. Playstation in my mind will always reign over the rest.

Jack Thompson - November 27, 2005 03:47 AM (GMT)
Revolution > PS3 > GameCube > PS2 > Nintendo DS > N64 > GB Advance > SNES > GameBoy > NES > X-Box > PSP > Atari > Pong > PlayStation > Sega Genesis > Dreamcast > That Sega Handheld > Nintendo Virtual Boy > X-Box 360

Bill Gates - November 27, 2005 06:50 AM (GMT)
Do you realize you just put the PSP below the X-Box? o_o That's like...evil. Very, very evil.

And the 360 isn't offering very much in terms of games on the launch. It's almost pretty much the exact thing you can find on the other consoles in one way or another.

Hmmm, I'll go with the PS3.

Jack Thompson - November 27, 2005 11:43 PM (GMT)
Whoa! The 360 is BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE!!!!!! Of COURSE I'm getting one, now!

Seriously, am I the only one who doesn't really see that as a "Top ten reason to get an X-Box 360"?

Toushiro Hitsugaya - November 27, 2005 11:48 PM (GMT)
Backwards compatablity is supposed to be a given.... but the Xbox 360 is not fully backwards compatable.... WTF???? and who cares about HALO on xbox now anyway... its on PC and its much better.... And I dont even think its that great either.... I still say Duck Hunt is a far better FPS than HALO....

I'm not sure I agree, but if it's not, it's at least pretty close.

Triton_DeBloom - November 28, 2005 04:54 AM (GMT)
Has anyone else heard about the XBox 360 melting it's game discs from over heating? I suppose a decent cooling system doesn't come with that steep price tag for mediocre gameplay.

Bill Gates - November 28, 2005 06:55 AM (GMT)
HAHA!

$60 games down the drain 'cause of bad cooling systems...gotta love it when the rival system fails. xD

a 360 that overheated and started to warp its plastic.... :roflmao:

Kiefer Sutherland - November 28, 2005 12:56 PM (GMT)
Thats just poor...melting the discs...you would have thought it would have come up in testing...o_O...

That comparison just shows why the 360 is behind...the one thing that might make it even somewhat half decent, is the fact that it is out now...the rest of the stuff doesnt interest me at all...I dont play online games, there are no launch games that really stand out, in fact I cant think of any right now, the controller looks ugly and so does the console, the blue ray is gunna crap all over whatever the 360 is using, and there's no point being backwards compatible when you have very few exclusive games to speak of...so...for my money, the PS3 wins out...

Toushiro Hitsugaya - November 28, 2005 09:07 PM (GMT)
It almost give the expression that thing rushed way to fast to be released to get a heads up on the PS3.... and now we all see what happens when things are rushed.... you get a ugly overheating crappy PC.....

Plus WTF where they thinking by releasing limited shipments at Xmas time????? It makes you want to kick some Gates @$$

And yeah... Blue Ray All The Way!!!!

Styxx - November 29, 2005 01:45 AM (GMT)
I think Mircosoft should've waited until atleast next year to put out the XboX 360 so that they could check it out for themselves,to see where their problems are going to start. But o well its their reputation thats messing up.

Jack Thompson - November 29, 2005 01:50 AM (GMT)
Of course they're not going to spend a year testing it! That would be the INTELLIGENT solution (and probably what the engineers suggested). But it's also not making money while it's in testing, and since money is the only thing that managers understand, they decided to release now.

Styxx - November 29, 2005 02:11 AM (GMT)
Yeah that would be the intelligent solution but yeah all they're looking for is how much money will come in,but thats a shame that they had soo many people to return them back.I really thot they would do good but i guess i was wrong.Oh well I hope the PS3 wont make similar problems.

Bill Gates - November 29, 2005 02:32 AM (GMT)
As I said before, typical American system. DOESN'T WORK FOR CRAP. Nor have any defining qualities..other than destruction (self-destruction included) xD

Gates should've stuck to Windows and computer stuff.

HAHA so true...

The XBOX will overheat and burn your house down but the PS3 will probably do your taxes, massage your feet, and make you a subway sandwich.....
