Title: "Noo! It has to be this way!"
Description: yes I'm making a thread... again @_@

Hugh Laurie - August 11, 2003 02:01 PM (GMT)
I've noticed how I've become quite the obsessive-compulsive in the past few months though in fact, I despise people who are too much of a perfectionist. However, I never expected myself to turn into one.

To those who do not, obsessive-compulsive are sort of control freaks. They want everything to go into order. If they're not satisfied, they'll have to start over again until they're sure everything is actually in order. Or in simple terms, perfectionists.

I for one can't stand wrong grammar and spelling. No offense but I really can't stand it. Another is the following of rules. I feel like I'm driven up the wall if people don't follow certain rules that I myself am following. Do you see how much of a disease it is? I don't know why I exactly have it but it's just there.

Do you believe you're one of these people
?

I can be pretty anal retentive (which is kind of obsessive-compulsive lite), but I don't get to the level of o-c at all. The spelling and grammar thing drives me bats, but if something's badly written I usually just walk away.

redeye_ryu - August 11, 2003 03:26 PM (GMT)

I try to be as perfect as possible, but it isn't like I can't stand it when someone types wrong or does something wrong. I only try to type right though because I don't like myself having grammtical errors.

You can tell how the person is by how they type. :P

Well anyway, no I'm not a perfectionist, but I could be if I wanted to.

It's never too late to learn how to type and spell properly, Redeye. My grandmother is learning now, so I don't see why you can't. :D I just think you don't want to.

well, im not o-c, but i am somewhat of a perfectionist. I don't like misspellings that much, but i forget to use proper punctuations lol XD

I am a definite perfectionist with some things... Not always though... In school, If I get anything that isn't a perfect grade I get annoyed at myself... It's the same with graphics, I hate it when I ruin anything about the particular graphic I'm workin on... It drives me insane, which is probably why I have all my graphics saved as a Photoshop editable file at least once... That way I can make corrections... Take my newest banner for instance... I am tremendously annoyed at myself for ruining the border... I've always been like that and probably will remain that way forever <_< ...

Uhh...in some cases...like if I actually bother to do something then I will do it properly...but I dont strive to do things perfectly...only if I have to...

Byaggha - August 12, 2003 03:59 AM (GMT)
Actually, Redeye, the problem with my grandmother was the fact that she picked up AOL speak really really fast and I've had to train her out of it. She's got horrid spelling because of the exposure, and it's taken me some time to undo the effect.

That and before this last year she'd never had a keyboard. Didn't own a typewriter and never worked with computers...so she had to learn how to type altogether.

Bill Gates - August 12, 2003 04:38 AM (GMT)
I'd have to say I'm a perfectionist with some things..but just with some minor stuff..nothin' all that serious. For instance, when I'm drawing something that I see, like anime characters, I HAVE to have everything in proportion with my art. If something is even a tad off from being just like the original, I usually crumble up the paper and start again. Another thing I find myself doing is picking out people who can't carry a tune, or otherwise, tone-deaf. I can't stand hearing someone of key. It just makes me cringe and want to stuff a sock in their throat.

Bruce Lee - August 12, 2003 07:36 AM (GMT)
Well, no I'm not. If something I do is wrong, it's left wrong. You learn from mistakes, not correct them.

Strangely enough, I've gotten used to it. Still, I think you can type really fast without mispelling words. My typing is about 50+ words/min (not that that's a big deal <_< ) and I think I spell quite efficiently. Or that is because I check my spelling? ;)

Anyway, I definitely agree on learning.

I must be really insecure.. I want things to be perfect.

'your gradma doesnt know how to spell correctly'

?

that's not very nice.

I agree with elza on this one. ><

well i wouldn't say obsessive compulsive but i'm a perfectionist when it comes to my art. has to be exactly as i drew it before or as close as i think is good (which is very close) or i spit it and throw it away to then start all over again.
as for spelling and grammar...some times it drives me nuts others its not so bad. *shrugs* my nanna taught me spelling and grammar and she was so strict about it >_< i guess some of it actually sunk in so yeah. true, i don't like to miss spell things or put a comma in the wrong place but if i'm unsure i either: check it in word for spelling before i post, or i leave it if i can't be bothered to use word and i'm still unsure.
