i have noticed that with each new band that comes out with a different sound to them people have to mkake a new genre adn lable other bands into it. this new emo phase is labling many bands as emo witch would normally associate with those bands.
when nirvana came into the spotlight in the early 90's it made a new genre also called grunge the same could be said of offspring whent hey came out they became the poster band for the genre alternative rock
as of right now i am not even sure what emo is i heard it is emotion music but then i though, doesnt all music play on sme emtion and thats what make those songs good
so if some one can tell me what this genre is i would be happy

Well, sure, music plays on all emotions, but Emo is kinda like the sappy and depressing stuff, I guess. <shrug>

by the way, emo is a style of rock/punk/alternative thats melodic and has some screaming in it. like the song until the day i die by story of the year, that is emo

well if emo is screaming rock then what screamo?
my friends mom went to the wraped tour and she was going emop on him
(he likes techno) and like she was saying that screamo was screaming emo
but i dont know = \ to be honest

I've read emo is a sub-genre of rock, not necessarily with screams. Screamo is the emo music with screams. Either way, most of these sub-genre's are useless. A lot of people are just using these labels as excuses to hate bands.
