As has been the tradition in previous years, the Crown Casino Risk tournament will again take place in 2005's season. Whilst the clashes will take place at a later date (as opposed to the usual Round 20 fixture), the rules will remain the same. For the uninitiated, they are:
1. Teams entering forfeit their regular round twenty four fixture and pay $75,000
2. Teams whose opponent's forfeit receive the bye and two points. Injuries will be healed as if a week had passed.
3. The eight teams in the tournament will be randomly drawn off to face one another in elimination style. The last two sides standing play off, as do the two losing semi finalists.
Prizes
a). First place receives 3 competition points and $300,000
B). Second place receives 2 competition points and $200,000
c). Third place receives 1 competition point and $100,000
Sides entering are to do so anonymously! PM me, catch me on MSN, or email me to enter your club into the tournament. This is an excellent opportunity to gain ground on the ladder. In past years several sides have used the tournament to secure their place in the top eight or even push for the minor premiership. Even finishing third is better than losing a regular clash, and you're receiving an extra bite at the cherry.
Currently two of the eight available places have been taken. One Premier League and one Division Two side.
What happens if two teams scheduled to play each other in Round 24 enter. Do both sides forfeit the league points??
