Last year's Division 2 losing semi-finalists, Tassie Devils, today prepared for their first match under the new franchaise of the Tasmanaian Devils. New Coach Dave Paddock, ex boss of Hull Kingston Redskins, Champions of the EIRL, looked forward to locking horns with old adversary, Theo Kamis.
Dave said "We are really looking to this game as a pointer as to where we are after rebuilding in the close season. The Stallions should be too strong for us but we like upsetting Theo so who knows?? We have 9 new players making their debuts tonight so I would expect the team to be a bit disjointed. We need to get sorted quickly as we take on Ryde in the BFC, even us Brits know how good they are. It would be a little embarrassing losing to an RSC team in our first competitive match. Having said that when I took over the Redskins in the EIRL they were nearly bottom of Division 1 and now are the League Champions. We know this is a bigger order this time round but challenge maketh the man. Watch this space for a report on the Wagga match"
Good luck with it, mate.
