Title: Steve Witt a Knight?

chriswalkerbush - August 3, 2003 01:07 AM (GMT)
I've been hearing rumours about a Parramatta player jumping to Newcastle since Rudder's shock departure.

It started off as Dykes being the likely ship-jumper, but now I'm hearing it's Steve Witt. Has anyone heard this? Where do you reckon he'd play?

To quote Magro quoting a true Olympic hero.

"It's true. It's damn true!".

I guess he'll either move Kurt Gidley to the bench and play five eighth, or he'll play Premier League and be groomed as Joey's replacement.

Marshal/Hoy, do you rate him?

I dont know I've heard big things from the Witt boys they both play halves so if the knights circling it would more then likely be 5/8. whats rudder doing I havent heard it?

Rudder has been released to make a move to Castleford in the UK. I say good riddance, he was monopolising five eighth and doing a very poor job of it.

I'd have to completely agree with that theory on rudder, they've had trouble there since MJ left.

Yeah all true but i like Kurt at 5/8 he is very talented just needs few more years to blossom.

Yeah, I agree, Kurt Gidley will be a genuine star in a few years. Just needs some confidence, and where better to get it than playing alongside the Aussie captain?

I'd still say Gidley will play bench, since he's a backline utility, and Witt will play five eighth once he's earned his stripes in Premier League.
