stock pickups are horrible from what i hear, they do look hot though

interesting design guitars are normally overpriced and don't play as well, thats the problem.

I have a BC Rich (Beast) and I'm really happy with the way it plays. No complaints from my side, although I do think they tend to expirent with the shapes of the bodies a bit too much.

Working at guitar center i get a chance to play ton's of different guitars and i really HATE BC RICH!! That guitar is a good example...i would rather puke then play one. I hate them almost as much as i hate fender.....That is saying a lot...

i think its a little unfair to compare BC Rich's to Fender. Fender's are better in almost everything you could think of.

I said i hate them both...i wasn't comparing. Fender's are pretty shitty for any real hard rock or metal. Single coil pickups are good for clean and that is really it and you can get the right guitar with the right amp and have an awesome clean sounds. Les Paul's are the most versitale guitar ever made.....Whatever you want to play. Pretty much finding the right amp is more of a problem with a les paul. If your doing nice bluesy stuff yes a fender might be good but i would maybe choose BB King's signature guitar for that over a fender...For metal i would say maybe jackson since they are starting to make more guitars in the us. Dean because of well yeah.....Gibson,ESP.......that is about it.

that's not true. Sure that the 3 single coil's give you a beautiful clean sound, but if you want to play metal with a fender ,you can choose a fender with Humbucher and 2 single coils, you also have an option with 2 humbuckers ( custom versions ).

Gibson and fender are the two most versitale guitars. ;)

Fender has a long track record for being great guitars but the company has gone downhill ever since they outsourced production to mexico. I mean the blackie reissue is really the only good thing that fender has done in the past few years. Gibson has just about any guitar for any situwation.

iron maiden is the only bad I can think of that is metal and uses fenders, yngwie just shreds, who cares what he uses

yngwie's first album is a classic, very influential and a very good album. He did go to the shitter a bit after that and 'Trilogy' though imo.

Rainbow are metal. Deep purple i would call hard rock rather than metal for the most part but rainbow, definitely metal imo. But i could call deep purple metal and you wouldn't be able to call me wrong, its a judgement call. And blackmore is about as metal a guitarist as they come, not just in music.
